Stage 16: Ponte Di Legno-Val Martello/Martelltal (139 km)

I have a suggestion to all you people going "It's totally safe!"
Why don't you go riding it yourselves? Coz it sure didn't look 'totally safe' to me up there (it might be again though).

It was wrong of the organisers trying to neutralise it; not because it wasn't at least somewhat needed, but because if you want to neutralise a stage you need to make sure everybody gets the message.

The Giro officials responsible for the wrong communication should be forced to now ride the entire stage without even their underwear.

I've fixed that for you.

Wrong communication: no neutralization for the descent from the Passo dello Stelvio. Sorry for the wrong information. #giro

Lol what an epic fail. They cant just retract such a statement when some GC-riders are 3 mins behind

I think they deleted the tweet where they officially declared neutralization.

Seriously though, that's an epic fail by whoever released the wrong information, but unless it was also on the race radio (and at least on Spanish Eurosport they're saying it wasn't) or they got the info directly from the race directors, it was stupid for anyone to not follow the group on the descent.

It must have been on the radio cos Tinkoff-Saxo tweeted that the organisers had neutralized the descent

The cancellation of the neutralization had nothing to do with the fact an Italian leads the stage? Oooooh. Controversial.
