this is definitely tougher than that sierra nevada itt crushed by santi perez in 2004. any mountain itt's harder than this one i wonder?

Morzine Avoriaz 1994. Frankly the climb is flatter but it was frikin 46km long.:D
In 1988 or so they had a 30km + TT up the Ventoux
Grenoble- Chamrouse wasn't exactly easy either. Flatter but 6km longer.

Pozzo
Quintana
Uran

basically after this stage, Quintana will be 100% securing the Maglia Rosa while the podium will be up for grasp between Uran, Rolland & Aru.

If Pozzo wins this, he'll likely finish first or second overall, and no way he misses the podium. There will be big time gaps here. This MTT and the Zoncolan may be the best situation Pozzo will ever have to win a GT. I doubt he can beat Quintana, but he has a real good chance at making the podium.

Definitely the 36kms ITT to Mt Ventoux in 1987. There were 4 Colombians in top 10 :D

I dont doubt his ability on a good day, but he's been burning matches non-stop in the mountains. I just question whether he can persevere tommorrow (and/or on zoncolan).

But thanks for the avatar tip;)

Yeah, don't think anyone will break the hour, though Quintana might get very close

7 flat km's: 9 minutes. (~47 km/h. No TT bike so lower speeds)
1530 meters of altitude gain. Assuming a (high end) VAM of 1700 m/h for the winnier We can guess roughly 54 minutes for the climb up Monte Grappa.

Winner should ride roughly ~63 minutes. Due to length of the climb i wonder if 1700 m/h is attainable. Could end up with a winners time slightly higher more along the line of 65 minutes.

Isn't the time limit like 25% in TT like this. There isn't really any danger to miss the cut for a pro.

Its a generous time cut yes but 6 missed it in the 2008 giro TT up to Plan de Corones. I would have thought the lesser gradient here would help people, also today's stage was less severe IMO than the stage preceding the 2008 TT was, and the flat first few kms tomorrow may also just help some of the slower riders out too. Still can't be ruled out though. We'll see.

Fair enough, you are right seems like it'll be closer to 65 minutes than an hour.
