maybe he just doesn't have the leg today. He has been descending at the back.. did he loose his nerve after the crash?

He's descended at the back on every descent in the Tour so far. I think after falling during a downhill attack in 2013, crashing out of the Tour and experiencing a few falls in the Giro, he has decided downhill attacks are not for him. That didn't stop him from crashing the day before yesterday though.

Too hard to get the car now, he need to get down first to get closer to the team car and thus minimizing the time lost.

A yellow shirt doesn't matter. It's a race, people. Nibali simply took advantage of the inevitable lull in the pace when Froome stuffed up his gear change to move away for the stage win. He's not even riding for the GC win ffs.
