Well, Brutt said in an interview after (stage 12-13 or something) that attacks are out of the questions, they are all here for Purito's GC. OK, Kristoff for sprints, Kuchynski/Vicioso for flats. But what's the points of having Brutt/Ignatyev who are attackers then?
That's my point. They lack some more power on the climbs.

Ignatiev and Brutt are doing the monkey's works, on the flats.

Agreed... all the more reason Purito (terrible time trial) needs to beware.

I understand the tactic, just Purito has a lot to lose, needs to take time on everyone (especially DeGendt) today.
Purito is hoping Ryder will crack at some point. That's the gamble.

Max. 4K of Stelvio and Ryder will be alone AND needing to pull. If he wins this Giro, it will need a heroic effort!

Ryder is maxed out and the climb hasn't even started! wtf?

Oh well...as he said, at the end of the day it's still just a bike race.

You had a great run, Ryder.

It's Peiper in Garmin car 1.

But it's also Katusha's failure in the valley, even more maybe?

They all went brain dead as soon as Liquigas is no longer controlling the race. Like they were all confused by the Liquigas leadership "vacuum". Slow to adjust their thinking from yesterday.

Bad mistakes here.

Scarponi looks blown, too.

That long? Well, good for me then :)
Should be about 3 min/km so the 22 km of Stelvio should be 66 min. But everybody knows they'll not serious about winning the Giro so add a 10 minute coffee break at some point

Doesn't matter if DeGendt is up ahead... Lose to Ryder or Degendt.

If he rides behind De Gendt he'll certainly not win. He has to play poker now, make Hesjedal crack, without losing too much time to De Gendt. If he wants to win, he has to take the risk that De Gendt will take too much time.

Will this stage turn into a non-event amongst the favorites???

All too wasted to do anything against each other and loosing it all to an outsider in the process???

oops, I've just woke up. Normally, I'd just unplug myself from the news and watch the full stage later on. But.I.just.can't.resist.the.temptation.today. :(
