Yeah the first crash was the main one on the gravel stage, aka the one that set everything in motion on the disaster scale. And that one was unfortunate because he entered the gravel section on Van Aert's wheel in a great position but he had no teammates with him. Then on that first gravel sector Lucas Hamilton decked it and sent a few of them down on the front of the small bunch, including Rog.

As for this Tour, I think I'm fine seeing him risk losing time by sitting too far back tbh. I'd rather that than see another crash. And listening to Denk's podcast last night pretty much confirmed they're taking a very conservative approach with Rog right now in order to mitigate the risk of accidents.
The front is safer. That's why a certain Pogi and Jonas hang out there.

I hope this doesnt offend anyone here..... but the area around Niagra Falls seemed kind if dumpy when I was there. A mix of tourist cheese and post industrial decay.
the tourist "cheesy-ness" and and commercial activity at Niagara Falls in the 1870s was one of the arguments raised in Congress when they were debating the creation of Yellowstone National Park. They wanted it protected so it wouldn't become "another Niagara Falls."
