For those who knew cycling in the past, do the stage lengths and profiles have anything to do with these times? Some of the old
Profiles posted on here look diabolical compared to today in length and mountains. Though others have said they soft pedalled the first part of stages 30 years ago.
Today was 200 k, almost 5000 vertical meters and full gas all day, so clearly not.

It’s turned into an arms race. UAE and Giannetti were always going to win with their bigger budgets.
Wait for next year. This is a “must win” considering the circumstances but In don’t think Rabobank has exhausted all its means yet either.

I fully expect Pogacar and Vingegaard to be even faster next year and should they do Alpe d’Huez or Mont Ventoux, cycling might be in for some tough questions.

In no way do I want to defend gianettis golden experiment, but I must say I find this Performance less over the top than vinges level basically straight out of icu.
I dont research the numbers as much as others, but i also found the '23 TT more absurd. Till then they both kind of cancelled each others absurdity out because there were two, and then He just obliterates him. That pog returns the favor this year maybe doesnt seem as implausible.

But those are nuances between the two, in the end one can only hope these young men will be able to live a long and healthy life despite whatever they are doing.

there's clearly something, or a combination of things that can give you an instant 15-20%. no doubt it's helping Vingegaard as much as Pogacar, but Pogacar wasn't in ICU 3 months ago.

Before Jorgenson stopped pulling, only riders staying with him were Vingegaard, Pogacar, Yates, Evenepoel and Landa. 6 riders from 3 teams. Cyclisme a deux vitesses. And the French riders can't keep up again. (Although Bardet was 2nd at Liege)

Remember when they stopped Mark doing the tour/Olympics and raided his team twice for winning a couple of meaningless Dauphine stages, multiple anonymous accusatory op-eds from French directors in newspapers. Where the French police at now come on lads.

Here's the answer:

The good Dr. Walter Schmidt's research ... he's been building up his protocols for CO dosing since 2013. He's been studying Hypoxia's effects on the body since 1990's. WADA saw it and ...

There's a reason they're always "at altitude" ... it's not just standard live high train low stuff ... they're artificially inducing extreme altitude adaptations in the human body with CO (and possibly other things as well). Effing dangerous if kids start doing that. Totally irresponsible but I think the cat's out of the bag.

The combination of more eating and emptier bowels (or whatever the latest explanation is) is doing wonders.

Not many scraps for poor old former GT winners in breaks these days, interesting to see where we go from here.

And this is prohibited or not?

I'm no expert on what's allowed or not, but it seems like inducing artificial adaptations by dosing a poisonous substance in your body goes against the spirit of anti-doping ...
Ok but if that really is potentially a huge game changer in performance, there must be a WADA statement. Or too early (like for EPO)?
