Looks like Benji Naesen's mates at Rabojumbo didn't like the new Netflix show & got their favorite influencer to go on the attack:

That's like a textbook definition of whataboutism.
Rackham you and I may not always see eye to eye but we are united by our distaste for these two-faced influencer morons . I don't understand how bejni naesen has a platform, he offers no insight at all.

New, far more powerful variant replacing Tramadol in the peloton, not yet banned.

Name: Tapentadol. It is a very powerful painkiller, classified at the highest level by the World Health Organization, on the same level as fentanyl and methadone. And, according to our information, for several months now the International Cycling Union (UCI) has been fearing that he will be riding in the peloton. At the end of 2023, without communicating publicly on the subject, she had obtained that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) placed the drug in its “monitoring program”. Waiting for a possible ban.
But the UCI chose to go to the next stage and alert representatives of riders, teams and organizers of this health risk on May 29, during a meeting of the Professional Cycling Council (CCP), including Le Time was able to consult the report, in English: “The UCI expresses its concerns about a new substance which could be used to replace Tramadol, called Tapentadol. Further analysis needs to be carried out but, if [this substance] is used, it is presented as being ten times more powerful than Tramadol.

Dear Teams and Riders,
We might have to ban this in a year or two, but until then, here are the details for any of you that were not aware.
Fill your boots,

Love,
UCI

PS Hope it doesn't leave you so spaced out that we have far more crashes than most other seasons...

I don't think this is new. Tapentadol branded as Palexia has been available for over a decade in my country, I guess in other countries too. And if it were a better performance enhancer, riders would have used it by default, not just as a replacement.

One thing I don't understand, why doesn't WADA put a blanket ban on all opioid analgesic drugs? Instead of banning one of them every year. There is something very fishy about that corrupt organisation.

maybe this is the reason for all the crashes

Re: Re:

If he was talking tramadol I doubt he would needed to have taken a dump so urgently  I am surprised they aren't using tapentadol, a fairly new synthetic opiod, like a stronger version of tramadol
May 2017 posted .... in the Dumoulin thread. I'm an idiot who knows nothing about most things but even I posted in April about Tapentadol when I saw it on the WADA monitoring list.
Anti-doping in the circus known as pro-cycling has been reduced to the guy "sawing a lady in half" - a trick, an illusion.

Yeah, the FDJ/Maidot attack about alcohol was just to divert from questions about Vingegaard apparently according to the Netflix show. So some "pre-emptive" attack for more diversion.

Benji is such a jerk, is all about clickbait.

Some weeks ago, he was defending Pogacar over Merckx, because Merckx had some positive doping controls, unlike Pogacar. Now, he posts something like that, when Pogacar works for Gianneti, just like Ricardo Ricco worked for him.
OK, so I don't read Benji's posts and he seems like a complete tool. But how is it incorrect to call out Gianetti? I mean, it has been done on this forum a lot.

Not trolling, an actual question

I see Naesen lost his nerve & deleted his Gianetti post.

It's the blatant hypocrisy which is quite legendary, i.e. considering his mate Patrick Broe has literally been recruited to work alongside Niermann & others from the Rabobank era at Visma next season.

If you read his thread (which I unfortunately did), he then went & dug a deeper hole for himself & attempted to 'qualify' the level of culpability of dopers by claiming staff who doped their riders back in the 2000's (like Gianetti) were much worse than riders who doped in that era & later became staff (which we can assume means Vaughters, Vinokourov, Niermann etc. ).

Basically whatever the industry they cover, I've found "Influencers" always follow the exact same boom & bust cycle: rise to prominence thanks to favorable algorithms/connections, get loads of followers... then sell-out & start acting like a mouthpiece for corporate interests (which could have been the goal all along).

I think it's pretty obvious 'who' Naesen was defending & deflecting from considering his own past links with Jumbo (he did work for them) & the aforementioned Broe from Lanterne Rouge.

I find it strange that a few bemoan the fact that the media provides little or no questioning about doping, but yet, when Naesen mentions doping on twitter he is criticised. Sometimes you can't win.
Is he not rather criticised for the (perceived) partisan nature of how he handles it and that it fits the spin of a specific team than for broaching the topic?

I did miss what specific questions he raised about doping.

I don't really mean to defend Benji, but I honestly think he has a point there. People running an organized doping team like Gianetti and Matxin did, should have been banned from cycling for life. Same as they did with Bruyneel.

I think it is especially egregious when people are involved in doping to this intensity and frequency. It really suggests a tendency to be quite recalcitrant. I agree with Johan's ban, and believe Gianetti and Matxin really have no place in cycling now. This applies to others as well, but lose to being so prominent is really nauseating.

I can't say I watch almost any influencer, and I don't read Benji's stuff, but he sounds a good grade A tool. 😆

I'm not against a Berufsverbot, but I also understand why pushing a few guys out (whether that was mostly for show or if it was supposed to be a warning to the rest, I can't say for certain) was a much easier/cheaper approach, that also didn't risk killing too many teams.

Both Benji and Patrick have talked about doping in the past too. Benji has the classical stance that if someone is found guilty they can be chastized for it, but never before that. Patrick on the other hand used to say they all dope. Some times he can be heard hinting at that still by saying he can't swear on anyone being clean.

So in this case it's even in line with what Benji has always said.

People doesn't have to be influencers to become dependant on likes and approval. The fact that he deleted it makes it seem more like an impuls than something related to vlab tbh.

But also I don't agree with banning especially those previously caught. It's just play on the audience.

gdamn what is it called; done for the stage/audience maybe?

God I'm too tired to get the words out of my donkey.

I don't think Gianetti has ever been found guilty.

A sacrificial lamb? Or are you thinking of audience capture?
