By the same logic, Contador is good on cobbles because he won a stage race including them. And the same for sterrato.

So Strade Bianche is just a normal hilly race, yet the only normal hilly race Cancellara have ever won, which he won twice (No, I don't consider M-SR or RVV normal hilly races).
Other riders who have done well in Strade Bianche are Löfkvist and Iglinskiy... not your average cobbles riders. I remember Slagter attacking last year in the final, I can't see him doing the same in Roubaix ;)

Cancellara was also arguably the strongest in the Mendrisio worlds, which was a 'normal' hilly race.

Believe it or not.

I don't think Strade Bianche is a cobbles classic. Especially not P-R.

I also don't think it's just a normal hilly race.

I do think like Eshnar that it's somewhere between RVV and Amstel. Imho closer to RVV than Amstel, though obviously a lot shorter than both.

edit: And actually I should change my analogy in post 74. By using DT's logic Contador has won a cobble race and a sterrato race.

In terms of field and winners, it seems to be closer to Amstel though...

I have personally never ridden sterrato, so can't judge.

Anyone think Cancellara will do good? Will his form be better than in Oman etc?

What about the chances of other members of Sky?

Can't really see any big standouts on the Sky roster that could be favorites for the win. Eisel and Stannard are the only ones on the roster that have raced SB before. 2014 the first participation for everyone else.

Kwiatkowski, Valverde or Sagan to win this.

It's going to be sunny in Italy, so will be less spectacular, but still very good.

Moser's win last year was awesome, beautiful landscapes and sterrato makes this race special, should be at least HC, not 1.1.

I don't see Wiggo making any impact on this race other than the start area. I think he'll find some excuse to DNF.

not in Denmark, Roma maxima is though, so not all bad.

Yes it is! I want both races live, considering that it's two different days. Is that too much to ask?

As for who's the favourite; I have no clue. But I'm sure it'll be a great race.

It was a such a great race last year. Great strategy from Cannondale, as everybody was watching Sagan, so Moser could easily win. That time I thought we would see a lot of races like this in 2013.

Unfortunately Moreno´s form has dissapearred next day.

But even better for me was the bunch sprint for second place. Sagan out of nowhere beating Cav. What a day :)

I do not mind see the same rusults this year. :)

Besides the obvious contenders, Trentin is my dark horse for surprise ride of the day.
