It might be that way, but I don't really get why. What's the reason? Or is it more likely just a coincidence due to lack of data?
As I touched on in my answer to Armchair cyclist on the previous page, it seems to be mostly down to whether the rider has specifically prepared for the short, all-out effort that a TT is. And riding around France (or Spain in the case of the worlds) for five to six hours every day at varying (low-ish for the most part) intensity is apparently not quite the optimal prep for that.
