Boonen should never has wasted energy trying to attack. He should have saved that for the Cancellera attack and stayed with him and refuse to do any work. Then he could hopefully out doing him in the sprint.

Just because this strategy did not work last week doesn't mean it was the wrong strategy. It was his only hope.

Pretty great race until 40kms out :p Cancellara is the best cyclist in the world atm.

Can't see where BMC are going to get their wins from this year  Embarrassing.

Great ride from Hammond, Leukemans and Hinault :)

Also, I'm sick of Eurosport never showing the podiums. Instead they cut to Planet Armstrong : /

Hammond did well, he doesnt have the physical cababilities of the other riders but hung in there, and Leukemans could be a future winner i reckon. good ride by Hinault too.

Flecha is an interesting rider, no explosive sprint, change of pace or timetrial skills but just so much guts and just relentlessly pushes on.

position 3 for such a hard race is a good result for him.

Tom is a "passista" with a good sprint, Fabian is a "passista" cronoman. Consequently with Sparticus on form as he was, Tommke should have made sure of only one thing today: that Cancellara didn't get one meter away from his front wheel ever in the last part of the race. And then out sprint him in Roubaix.

His useless attacks from 60 K out only made him have to take a rest for a moment on the 15th wheel. At precisely that moment, and none other, Sparticus followed the surge of a trio, looked back, saw Tommke was gaped, and opened up the gas as only he can do in situations like this.

Game over.

The Belgian press is going to rip Boonen apart this week that's for sure.

A clever move by Cancellara won the race, but it was a bit of a sucker-punch. Didn't he think he could win otherwise?

Boonen lost the race on hubris. His tactics were poor, but his team were worse.

Cancellara is a stylist on the bike, but there's some things about him that rub me the wrong way. Anyone else have that feeling?

While I'm at it, I had the misfortune of watching the race being commentated by Liggett and Sherwin: those two are patronising blowhards who don't know when to shut up (or find an excuse to mention an absent LA and plug his ersatz rivalry with AC)

Great ride by Hushovd, too bad Cancellara is a monster.

I think he's all talent and pure badarse - but it kind of surprises me that nobody mentions doping when you can just ride absolute pros off your wheel like that. Twice in one week.

It's CycleSports fault... all I read are doping articles in their mag and now its the one thing I think when I see performances like this.

I still lay serious congrats at the man's feet though. Awesome ride.

You got to love this gay.
Can anyone post his Rube finish record?
I think he always finishes in top 20 or 30.
