pog has only one chance to win PR: race as vdp in sanremo. He has to hope that van aert is in good shape and can fight with vdp and just follow their wheels. He should never take a turn, and attack only in the very last segments, or try to arrive to a sprint much fresher than the other two, only possible if he doesn't waste a single ounce of energy. A strong Van Aert is key, because if pog doesn't take turns with vdp, mathieu could simply wait for philipsen and help him for his sprint, but with Van Aert in front there is a very important tactical variation. Unfortunately knowing pog he will never be a wheel sucker, and if he finds himself in front with the other 2 he will cooperate

I always wished my idol nibali did Roubaix after his performance in the cobbles on the tour 2014. But he kept skipping it to target the giro, and then finally when he decided to do Roubaix in 2022 his last year, he got an illness on the preparation. Better do the races when you want instead of waiting. Learn from vincnenzo stupid decision
Maybe Fuglesang didn't agree to put him in his pocket for that race like the TdF.

I have no clue if the team is going to line up the best team or not.

i see this as year one learning curve. No idea what the strategy should be. I suspect he should just go all out in the sport of attrition rather than race tactics

And I'm sure he was just insulting riders.
Froome and Contador are great without monuments. MVDP is great without performing in GT's.
It's fair to say that Vingegaard can be/is great as well.

What's coward-ish about him? Thought we were supposed to be respectful towards the riders.
Your first mistake is comparing Jonas with Froome and Contador it's not even close. They have achieved more than him. Listen, we have seen Jonas win the TdF, can't blame the fans for wanting to see more. Only aiming to ride TdF without any other race gets boring fast even more so when he isn't even the best GC rider in the world.

I have an inside info that after the finish in sanremo there was a tense fight between pog & narvaez in the bus with pog shouting at jonny for why he lead him out too fast on cipressa & jhonny blaming pog for his missed chance in the race eventually Gianneti had to interfere & decided to pull out both of them from E3 and its said that their participation in the team is no longer certain for the future.

Participation in the team in what kind off way? Them leaving UAE (seems unthinkable with Pogi) or that they will just not race in the same race teams for the time being?

Well, if Pogacar is the GOAT, Vingegaard has beaten the GOAT twice. Nor Contador, nor Froome have ever beaten the GOAT (not so sure about a goat though).

So MVDP is a coward as well since he only cares about the classics?
I don't blame the fans for wanting to see him more. I blame the "fans" for calling a rider coward because he follows his own schedule.

He wants to race PR because he wants to race against the best of his generation and he wants to win all the Monuments. Right now the best racer besides himself is MvdP and he needs to figure out how to win PR. Might as well start this season. Winning the TdF isn't that much a challenge for him right now with Jonas and Remco not up to par.
Why people have this trend of putting Remco as a Pogacar's opponent in GTs? Where and when was he on par with Vingegaard or even Pogacar?

Where has this idea come from that there is some kind of internal rift?

Yous lot just get these little ideas in your head sometimes and run with them getting all outraged as though they were objective truth. Could just want to be fresher for Roubaix?

Thought Narvaez did a really good job in MSR to be fair to him, dragged Pogacar up from P25ish and set a really strong tempo, they're never likely to have all their guys at the base, because as Peter Sagan used to say, everybody want to be there.

The idea came from this post, and the fact that some people are as thick as a brick and actually took it seriously :tearsofjoy: :

He is obviously a legitimate opponent and one to be reckoned with. He is clearly not on a par with Pog or Vino and a step behind but I don’t think anyone is suggesting he is on their level in GTs at the moment. However he is a GT winner and young with room for improvement so it is not for us to say he cannot take another step forward or in the right circumstances can challenge.

He is very clearly a third favourite behind Vino and Pog but also very clearly a legitimate threat
