Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

What's going on here?
I'm the one asking you. We're here, excitedly discussing Pogacar, and yet your overly cautious stance gives the impression of a forced political correctness.

Apparently, we can't say he's frustrated, we can't mention his rivals directly—everything must be handled with excessive delicacy. It almost feels as though you're here to moderate the conversation about Pogacar. Why is that?

MSR climbs are not hard enough to give him a big advantage over powerful riders like Ganna and MVDP. They need to be less fresh at the bottom..

With Flanders by the last Kwaremont run, legs are definitely going to be less fresh than at the bottom of Cipressa. This is a good thing for Pogi

Yes!!! This is what I expect and hope for.

Everyone hanging on for dear life and then Pog with the final stomp.

It shall be glorious to watch.

I dont think pog waits for last kwaremont b/c it will be difficult to control the race for vermersch, wellens and narvaez untill 18 km to go. Also we have to consider uae are going to be left alone to control from the start of the race so i dont think they can handle all the attacks till 18 kms to go and if he goes on 2nd time kwaremont its with the assumption of going solo otherwise if he is to make a selection of him vdp & vanaert... he knows even vdp will not relay with him let alone vanaert & others. However i would say if pedersen somehow finds himself with pog he will shutdown the radio in his ears & will work🤣

Maybe because you and yaf are trying to create the image that mvdp "mocked" Pog. And that Pog is "pissed off" at him and Mathieu should "apologise and bow" That's delusional.
It's common knowledge they get along great. We don't need this made-up hostile bs. Can't you just enjoy these great riders performances in a normal way?

I've never said VDP mocked Pog, my friend.
What I said is that Pog is pissed because he's an incredibly competitive cyclist.
He wants to be the greatest of all time. He has the mindset of a killer when he's racing, even though he's a genuinely kind person off the bike.

We’re all here as passionate fans, enjoying the discussion and sharing our perspectives. A lively debate is part of what makes a forum engaging.

That said, I'm not disrespecting any forum member. I respect everyone's opinion, even when I disagree. But this is a forum—it's a space for discussion, for exploring hypotheses and possibilities, for enjoying the debate, not for constantly having anyone call attention with this forced stance.

"Ahhh, we must respect VDP. Ahhh, we must not underestimate Vingegaard", and so on.

I am entitled to my opinion—that’s why I’m here. If I want to say that I support Pogacar winning decisively over VDP, that doesn’t mean I disrespect VDP. If I say I want Pogacar to beat Vingegaard and that his fragile ego won’t withstand it, that’s my opinion, it's what I believe.
I’m not disrespecting anyone here. It just seems like people want to position themselves as the leader of Pogacar’s fans and dictate what we can or cannot say. That’s not right.

I respect everyone's opinion, and I would appreciate it if mine could be respected as well—without anyone constantly policing it. You’re not a moderator. If anyone were actually crossing a line here, I’m sure the forum’s moderation team would step in.

And that is clearly not the case. Everyone here is engaging respectfully.
Could you not simply respect the opinions of other members, even if you don’t agree with them?

Me? I love this excitment around Pogacar and his Spring Classics Campaign but why mock Vingegaard when we are talking about RVV and/or PR?

"trying to create the image that mvdp "mocked" Pog." Dude we're not on a tv set debating on our political programs😁. Its personal opinion move on! And if you're uncomfortable here there are many left for you

I genuinely believe Vingegaard has a fragile ego—just look at how he broke down last year. He kept insisting he had the formula to beat Pogacar, but when he realized it no longer worked, he cried. And when he discovers this year that he can’t beat Pog anymore, I believe he’ll retire—fear and lack of passion for cycling will catch up with him.

Of course, that’s just my opinion. And as I keep saying, having an opinion isn’t disrespectful. So, perhaps we could extend that same courtesy of respect to different perspectives? Not everyone wants to subscribe to this overly cautious, politically correct narrative—it’s exhausting.

What? Of course it's not disrespectful to have an opinion, but it sure as s... is possible to have a disrespectful opinion. This makes absolutely no sense.

I'm a lot of things but politically correct is not one of them.

Pogacar had a worse mental break after Combloux. This doesn't mean he is/was fragile. I'm a cycling fan above all and I want a peak Vingegaard to have entertainment in the Tour so of course I will cheer for Vingegaard (despite being a Pogacar fan) and show him respect. He is the only rider who made Pogacar look more human.

I'm a lot of things but politically correct is not one of them.

So let me be clear: I believe Pogacar will decisively beat VDP next Sunday. Of course, this is my wish, and there’s no guarantee it will happen, but it’s something I truly hope for.

I also truly believe Pogacar will triumph over Vingegaard in the Tour de France. It might not happen, but that doesn’t stop me from sharing my opinion—after all, this is a forum where we’re encouraged to express our thoughts without attacking anyone.

And by the way, I think Vingegaard has a certain emotional fragility. He himself has admitted to past confidence issues. This isn’t a disrespectful opinion, just a personal observation. Everyone is free to disagree, and if someone believes I’m wrong, I will respect that opinion, even if I don’t share it.

This is a Pogacar thread, so this is the place for us diehard fans to talk and share what we hope will happen. Every time someone says they want Pogacar to win decisively, there's always someone: “Ohhhhhh, that’s so disrespectful.”

It’s really annoying.

So, based on this fact, if you want to claim that Pogacar has mental fragilities, that’s perfectly fine—it’s your opinion.

I may disagree, but I will respect it. That’s what respecting others’ opinions truly means.

Fair enough (and I also believe he will win RVV and the Tour).

By any means, I believe Pogacar has mental fragilities. He doesn't but Vingegaard doesn't have too IMHO. Sometimes I feel you are talking about Pinot.

Yes, let's hope so.

And just to finish, if you or anyone want to cheer for Vingegaard in the TdF, that’s your choice, and that’s perfectly fine.

But don’t expect everyone else to share the same sentiment. Not everyone will root for him while supporting Pog. I want him to lose BADLY. I want VDP to be humiliated in RVV.

Fans of Porto don’t cheer for Benfica, fans of Barcelona don’t cheer for Real Madrid, and many Nadal fans didn’t cheer for Federer—they wanted him to lose (myself included). It’s the nature of rivalry.

I was Fedex fan but when he was out i cheared for Nadal... also if Pogi is not on the race i cheer for MvDP/Roglic. I just like all of them. I am huge Pogi fan but i think for him being really really great (he already is)he needs to have those close, epic races. MSR 2025 proved he is GOAT even thought he didn't win. I don't care what haters say. It is not about palmares, is about how hyped can you get people for certain races.
