Evenepoel is 13th. He took a bonus second today. So not much of a difference there.

He'll probably catch one or two guys, but both Tadej and Jonas have someone ahead of them who they will probably catch as well.

I said this in December when he announced his program. But hey if he is happy racing Flanders and Roubaix but getting crushed in the Tour so be it.

Sivakov didn't do any classics and performed worse in the time trial than Kuss. He was the second-best UAE rider.
The entire team performed very poorly.

I continue to believe UAE equipment in the TT this year is very bad, keep in mind they last released a TT bike 3 and a half years ago and their bikes are notoriously heavy, I just feel in uae they don't bring their research on materials to the extreme of specialized and cervelo. With that in mind, pog's performance today is still pretty bad, to me this is more a sign that he's not feeling good on the TT bike, and in the climbs he will be better

I don't think Sivakov took it any more calmly than Kuss.
It was just a bad performance.

By usual annual patterns for everyone else yeah, though this is the first time Pogacar has looked a bit second hand in 22 months.

I think he's trained heavily earlier in the season for multiple classics style 2-5 minute repeated efforts and is now having to pivot to GT style training, I thought that was part of the issue in 2023 along with the injury. Even for the best it takes time. That and their tt setup doesn't look too good.
