Always in complete control.
Pace by UAE was consistent but not very strong as there were still a lot of people in the yellow group, including guys like Healy. This means they didn’t push extremely hard like Visma did 2 days ago.
The easier the race the closer Vingegaard is to Pogacar.

It was a sprint in the end so u expect him to drop jonas by a few meters. As i said before pog wasn't on his usual level today but he isn't exposed by it when his usual level is so much better than everyone & his team pacing hard all day also explains that they wanted to win the stage
As someone already mentioned, I think it's similar to a combination of the Steinhauser Giro stage win and Couillole. When Jonas attacked, it's definitely a high pace and he just eased to Jonas' wheel without even going out of the saddle.

I don't believe Pogacar had a bad day on rainy conditions. Impossible.
I say he had decent legs but not super, seems obvious to me. And why shouldn't he have a little bit less good legs at the end of a superhard stage, when he went deep two days in a row after a crash...

Even if legs aren't super Pog's level is still so high that Vinge can't really shake him.

Couldn't disagree more. If that was the case they would've stopped once they reached yates & kuss and also i believe any visma rider upfront isn't a concern for them anymore

Maybe UAE wanted to win the stage actually but without expanding too much energy by Pogacar. Arensman's acceleration on Peyresourde quickly increased the gap by over a minute (he was much stronger than the rest of the breakaway) meaning that UAE would have to go hard early on Superbagneres climb. As for the last climb UAE set a good pace but nothing crazy, it was never a preparation for Pog's attack.

If Pogi wanted the stage he would have had to start at the bottom alone when the gap wasn't closing with the team. So he just sat on to see if Arensman cracked.

Oddly enough vingo put in a couple of really strong attacks, which normally might have caused a counter attack, or rapid drop in Arensman's lead. Neither happened.

Anders Mielke asked Tadej this question:
'Was this the strongest Jonas so far?'
Pog blabbing about the past stages that Jonas was strong in the past stages also.
ROFL. He doesn't care anymore.
Translation: 'I would have left him on the road but they call me greedy.'
