Plus Arensman was really strong today. He was with a ton of former quality GC riders and went away from them.

Merckx was lucky enough to live in an era without social media. He was criticized for being a cannibal, but it wasn't like today, with so many people crying on social media. It's unbearable.
Agree, its a sport, the goal is to win, its crazy what makes people offended nowadays

UAE and Pog pushed themselves enough to not detrain. When you see the likes of Sivakov and Politt salute the camera as they drop, you know they were within themselves.

I don't believe Pogacar had a bad day on rainy conditions. Impossible.
I say he had decent legs but not super, seems obvious to me. And why shouldn't he have a little bit less good legs at the end of a superhard stage, when he went deep two days in a row after a crash...

Even if legs aren't super Pog's level is still so high that Vinge can't really shake him.

Lucky? He got punched in the liver by a fan on a decisive stage of the Tour. I have yet to see that happen to Pogačar.

Defensive pacing. 2 Vismas upfront.
I'm sure if a Rabobank rider was upfront he would have attacked for the stage.
Couldn't disagree more. If that was the case they would've stopped once they reached yates & kuss and also i believe any visma rider upfront isn't a concern for them anymore

But they stopped. Yates was soft pulling or you think he was trying all out?
Come on...
Soler was pulling crazy and when they caught the Vismas they slowed down.

Maybe UAE wanted to win the stage actually but without expanding too much energy by Pogacar. Arensman's acceleration on Peyresourde quickly increased the gap by over a minute (he was much stronger than the rest of the breakaway) meaning that UAE would have to go hard early on Superbagneres climb. As for the last climb UAE set a good pace but nothing crazy, it was never a preparation for Pog's attack.

If Pogi wanted the stage he would have had to start at the bottom alone when the gap wasn't closing with the team. So he just sat on to see if Arensman cracked.

Oddly enough vingo put in a couple of really strong attacks, which normally might have caused a counter attack, or rapid drop in Arensman's lead. Neither happened.

Last year on Couillole Pog got out of the saddle to close Vinge.
This year in Dauphine and Tour it's no longer needed.

Anders Mielke asked Tadej this question:
'Was this the strongest Jonas so far?'
Pog blabbing about the past stages that Jonas was strong in the past stages also.
ROFL. He doesn't care anymore.
Translation: 'I would have left him on the road but they call me greedy.'
