Tomorrow, UAE domestiques should save rest. Wellens was a bit more exhausted today. They shouldn't go for the breakaway.
I want to believe UAE are not stupid enough to put Pogacar on a bike he doesn't like just for marketing. If this is true, I hope he goes to Visma and burn these UAE guys.Mate i thought u were the first one who started the bike theory & i was trying to follow u but u dropped me big time now lol
Could also say the opposite. If Adam had been at his level, Pogacar would have won on Saturday. To be honest, UAE are lucky that Visma aren't on there bese level as well.
Jorgenson is MIA, Yates hasn't done much and Kuss is good, but not amazing so far.
I was watching this interview and he never said that. They are either twisting his words a lot or just trolling for clickbait. He indeed said there were some points where he was suffering close to his limit but nothing about "I knew I could follow him and stay in his wheel"/ "I didn't need to 'overcommit' myself" etc." Vingegaard attacked a lot, but I knew I could follow him and stay in his wheel," commented the general classification leader. "I didn't need to 'overcommit' myself; I didn't want to overdo it and risk a counterattack from Jonas behind. I tried it once, but I didn't want to hurt my legs. I climbed at my own pace . "

Could also say the opposite. If Adam had been at his level, Pogacar would have won on Saturday.
And let's not even mention Almeida. With Almeida, Pogacar could put the pace he wanted.
I kept a little bit in reserve, and I simply tried to stay with Jonas
Almeida is out, but UAE has been impressive.I mean, this Tour went perfect for Visma - Almeida out, rest of UAE pretty weak, Pogacar with a crash, Pogacar sick (sore throat and stuffed nose) and yet Pogi still leading by 4min. Thats actually pretty impressive.
His demons are messing with his head. This report sums up for me today:

'I'm definitely not Superman' - Tadej Pogačar insists business as usual after maintaining Tour de France lead with record-breaking Mont Ventoux ascent
UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider successfully resists repeated attacks by arch-rival Jonas Vingegaardwww.cyclingnews.com
I think Pogacar learned from his mistakes on Granon in 2022. But also remember today was a headwind which makes it harder to keep a gap.
I think its now clear that Jonas is at his expected higher level in the 3rd week thanks to his better preparation compared to last year.
Great stage today but Pogacar won that battle albeit narrowly. Much more to come in the Alpes.
Apparently Visma are leading teams GC without even showing upAll in all UAE have a lot of reasons to be happy with their rider's overall performance, while Visma is probably hoping a couple of them can still show up for the 3rd week.
That matters zero for Visma's GC ambitions.Apparently Visma are leading teams GC without even showing up![]()
To me it seemed like they had Pogi on the ropes, couldn't quite do it though but it wasn't for lack of trying, and certainly not for lack of team support. You conveniently manage to ignore the two satellite riders who clearly played a role as well. If Vingegaard had been able to drop Pogi clearly he would have been in a lot of trouble. Meanwhile what did UAE do for Pogi today? That matters zero for Visma's GC ambitions.
Today Vingegaard needed a full train: Wout, Kuss, Yates, Jorgensen.
What actually happened was Wout pulled for 1km to drop Jorgensen and then Kuss for 5km with a pace that only reduced the gap to Enric Mas from 5m45s to 5m00s, yet still managed to drop Simon Yates.
Does this seem enough work from arguably the strongest supporting cast in the Tour to you?
Keep in mind only one person is saying Pogi peaked too soon. Other than possibly yourself if you agree. If he really peaked too soon I wonder why did he say after the training camp at Isola 2000 that his preparation for the Tour was almost perfect this year ? Bluffin or he is also surprised by Vingo's level after Dauphine ?
What do you mean i conveniently ignored Campanaertz and Benoot? I literally mentioned their names in the post you quoted. But with a higher pace, acceleration also does more damage.I think Narvaez' accelerations are what destroys Vingegaard's legs, not Almeida's pacing.
Almeida's pacing doesn't matter much if both are closely matched, as the last MTF's suggested.
I don't believe they are saving him. He really bonked in PyreneesVisma could be saving Mateo for the last two mountain stages as well. I would not write him off.
He is not looking as good as he was one week ago. There is so much panic here like wtf. 4 min gap boys dont worry![]()
And still climbing record on VentouxHe is not looking as good as he was one week ago.
Haha so true idk what people were expecting? 7,4w/kg for 50 minutes? You know you've arrived to god status when you set the climbing record by a lot across a historic climb, and the unwashed masses are in discontent.
UAE lost their number 2 rider that would have them closer or on par with Visma.Apparently Visma are leading teams GC without even showing up![]()
