lol today vinge couldnot create cm of separation, while pog in his attack created separation easy.now vinge will drop him on madelaine.lets be serius.only if pog has historic bad day.
That's just the difference in kick they have, Vingegaard needs some more time to return to the wheel. There was nothing between them today and since Pogi sat on the wheel for nearly the entire climb and didn't seem to have much more in the tank, I'd argue Vingo was perhaps a little stronger.

But Pogacar doesn't really need to drop Vingegaard, so why worry?
If the gap is small, Vingegaard won't be able to drop Pogacar as well in Pog just wins the sprint, so there's that.
I smell some kind of trolling in that account. Don't worry 😂

That's true, the part about dropping Vingegaard again was related to Vuelta and next year's Tour.

Absolutely the same goes to the Vuelta. Vingegaard needs to drop Pogacar, not the other way around. And until that happens we don't have reasons to think about that.

But Pogacar doesn't look as confident as he was one week ago.

This is no sense comparison. The first pic was after strong sustained tempo, while the second if after a massive attack at the start of the climb where they pushed crazy watts.
Once again it shows that probably Pogacar power output in absolute numbers is amazing but nothing out of the world, but the harder the race the better his performance is compared to the others. In PdB he was feeling super good and Visma prepared the perfect scenario for him. Today he looked better and better through the climb.

I know you are probably trolling but still 😂

Did you see MSR? Of course his power is otherworldly.

Completely agree with that. If Pog really wants to race the Vuelta he needs someone more reliable than Narvaez on the long climbs / difficult mountain stages who can really launch him and the only one I can think of is Del Toro.
Majka will probably be his captain in the Vuelta so I assume it can't get worse than during the Tour.

Big difference. This has nothing to do with the bike. This sounds very stupid but I really think he peaked too soon. His level in the Dauphiné was similar to the level he is showing in the Tour.

To be honest, UAE are lucky that Visma aren't on there bese level as well.
Jorgenson is MIA, Yates hasn't done much and Kuss is good, but not amazing so far.

If he really peaked too soon I wonder why did he say after the training camp at Isola 2000 that his preparation for the Tour was almost perfect this year ? Bluffin or he is also surprised by Vingo's level after Dauphine ?

Maybe he said in the interview that he was thinking about winning, but when he found out that Paret Pentre was fighting for the win, he held on?

It's not disrespectful, it was simply the truth, and it won them two Tours. It wasn't last year anymore of course. But they still need to motivate their rider. If a DS yelling in the radio "you're better than him, come on!" is already insulting, yeah, then everything's an insult.
Those comments did not win them those two tours. The comments by Richard Plugge, Grischa Niermann and others were perceived as disrespectful towards a rival rider who had already won two Tour de France by that point.

But since last year's beating I've noticed they became more humble. And on the road the racing is fair too. I notice more mutual respect both ways between Vingegaard and Pogacar. Great stage today.

And the opposite? Everything has been perfect to Visma, even if they are underwhelming.
Almeida crashed out, Pogacar crashed, UAE is even more underwhelming than Visma. If Visma was stronger, nothing would change until now to be honest. But if Almeida was here, Pogacar would probably have a gap even bigger.

I actually have reasons to think his gap would be smaller.

But you have a point that both teams weren't as good as expected.

Never trust riders. Remco said he wanted to race the Nationals in order to hit his ceilling shape in the Tour. We all saw his level. Vingegaard was in the best shape ever and was a disgrace on Hautacam.
Pogacar is hard to read too. They all bluff.

I want to believe UAE are not stupid enough to put Pogacar on a bike he doesn't like just for marketing. If this is true, I hope he goes to Visma and burn these UAE guys.
