Speaking of tired Pogi. I hope UAE learned something from last year. In a lot of the stages in the Tour he finished looking pale and sickly. It was one of the few times I legitimately worried about a rider and his health.
Was more the case of him coming in with far less than ideal preperation so naturally always had to dig deep rather than beeing fresh. Also body uses energy healing his broken wrist throughout the tour rather than instead recovering like normally the body constantly had to fight that too.

Was always gonne be the case last year when he entered within the circumstances he did. Was even worse in WC right after.

Guys, you need to listen carefully to Pog's words from G's podcast. He knows that he is supposed to say the politically correct 'It was a super hard Giro and I am quite tired now'. He can't be brutally honest and say 'This Giro was a nice training block for me' because thousands of people will listen to him later and interpret his words. You are not super tired if on Stage 15 and Stage 20 you arrive fresher at the finish than on Stage 2.
Now the real things that were interesting from the interview.
First, he mentioned Javier Sola and that he will adjust his preparation for the Tour accordingly to him. He said that he feels much better working with him this year.
Second, he mentioned that in last year's TDF he started the race being too aggressive and paid for it in the end but also he admitted that the shape was NOT SO GOOD.
Third, he said that Adam Yates will be his right hand man in the TDF and Almeida and Ayuso will be superdomestiques (he didn't mention Ayuso as a coleader). I have serious doubts in Ayuso's desire to work for Pog.

Ayuso will bend the knee if not hes digging his own grave thats stupid. I think hes more clever than that if not its moviestar next and that can hardly help his career. His best way of winning is riding on Uae and in a while get leader role in the races Pog dont participate in otherwice its less money, less wins, less everything.

Btw, I found the interview on the podcast absolutely horrible. It was the first time I have listened to it and Thomas and the other guy (Luke Rowe?) have no idea how to include a guest into their conversation. It really didn't feel like Pogacar was comfortable talking to the two.

Doing the double is something special. I just saw in an artcle the club of the riders that has done it an that has to be one or the most special club in cycling:

- Coppi
- Anquetil
- Eddy Merckx
- Bernard Hinault
- Stephen Roche
- Miguel Induráin
- Marco Pantani

Maybe Roche pulled something special that year that included the WC.
Merckx did the Triple Crown first in 1974.

Seriously, he is so overrated even for his young age. I really think he needs to improve a lot to win a GT in the future. I have higher hopes for Del Toro compared to Ayuso.
Honestly, if Ayuso had gone to this Giro instead of Pogacar he would have likely won it. Roglic won't be around for much longer and Vingegaard and Pogacar won't win everything forever.

This is tragic when you think about it.
Tragic?
Jumbo in 2019 sent Roglic to a Giro which was rightfuly his if not for the usual crashes.
In the 2018 Tour Roglic was 4th just because Bernal towed Froome to his 3rd place. And because Roglic crashed.
Roglic crashed in Tour 2021 and in the Tour and Vuelta 2022.
That's what is tragic.
Ayuso will likely never win a GT unless he is lucky with which riders avoid it.
