Pogacar crashed coming into that just like Jonas has this year. But he didnt win the Giro by 10min last year so its not the same and what i meant. All i meant was I am suprised if Pogacar is not fatigued from that Giro display was all I meant. I was on the road on Monte Grappa and watched, my first time watching and i was shocked about the speed of everyone the tv pictures likes im used to dont justify the speed their going at. Wish I could see some stages at the tour im sure its a spectacle.Jonas did the same TdF 2023.

How is tour and vuelta the same as giro - tour. Nvm ur missing the point, my point was im suprised if Pogacar isnt fatigued somewhat from the giro performance and that was it.Pogi won the Giro by 10 minutes over everyone else.
Jonas won the TdF by 10 minutes over everyone else, Yates...
Jonas looked in pretty good shape at the Vuelta.
Pogacar beat Jonas in 3 or 4 mountain stages. Nothing compared to what we saw in the Giro. They were very equal until the third week. Pogacar won the Giro with a 10 minutes gap but he could win with 15 minutes if he wanted.Jonas did the same TdF 2023.
Jonas beat everyone else at all mountain stages (almost). What Pogi did at the Giro, Jonas did at the TdF against everyone else besides Pogi. If Jonas was riding the Giro, everyone else bar these two would have been destroyed.Pogacar beat Jonas in 3 or 4 mountain stages. Nothing compared to what we saw in the Giro. My point is that ifJonas could handle 2 GT's, Pogi can too.How is tour and vuelta the same as giro - tour. Nvm ur missing the point, my point was im suprised if Pogacar isnt fatigued somewhat from the giro performance and that was it.
Ah ok, you are absolutely right. I have no doubts that Vingegard would put 10 minutes without amy effort tooJonas beat everyone else at all mountain stages (almost). Giro-tour is considererd harder though but that wasnt my point so nvm that. I only said I expect some fatigue after the biggest GT win in ages thats only natural I think. Ofcourse I agree with you regarding I think he can handle it I totally agree, just I expect some sort of fatigue nothing else.My point is that ifJonas could handle 2 GT's, Pogi can too.
If there will be any of teammates close in GC standings by the beginning of week 3 the domestique job was not done properly.
There is no doubt in my mind that Pogi is clear number one and UAE wants this double this year by the same rider.
Close in a GC battle can mean a few different things. For example:
Some UAE riders still close in GC and the same applies for some cyclists from other teams, by close meaning to still win the overall. Then in my opinion the job was not done properly or Pogi just didn't have it.
Some UAE riders are close in GC and the same applies for some cyclists from other teams, by close meaning to fight for second podium position, Pogi already too far ahead. Then indeed the job was done properly.
Imagine the scenarion, on where Pogi in third week confronts his team, guys, i am dying here, you are killing me, we are too close. And after cerful consideration and a minute of silence Adam responding, Pogi, but Jonas is miles behind, no way he will catch you?

nothing new there.Pogi's papers are being peer-reviewed by the old masters and he's getting praised!
"He wins in the spring, he wins in the summer, he wins at the end of the season," lists the 69-year-old, five time Maillot Jaune winner. "He's the one who is closest to us, honestly. He attacks, he has fun, he's happy."
"And then there's that smile..." - Bernard Hinault on why Tadej Pogacar strikes a chord with fans more than Jonas Vingegaard
