The Badger is full of sheet in this regard, because playing the "sport is just a game" card suited him well, only because the nation and establishment were on his side, whilst drinking a beer in a post-stage interview to an incredulous Lemond saying it's not settled until the TT. And then he got his arse handed to him despite Greg hitting the tarmac. Hinault should have said sport is just a "head-game" and the more devious you are with the system behind you, the more you get away with in return.
