He is not being arrogant saying this and he has never been. He is just saying this so that the world wont make too much noise regarding doping the whole july. He will smash the pantanis,armstrongs... all time great watts per kilo like it was never there.

How do people here rate his chances for stage 1? Do people here expect he will have a go at it or not duo to the downhill and flat part at the end?
IMO, his best chance of winning is through a sprint from a reduced group of 20 guys or so. A 50 km attack on the toughest climbs in the stage is too crazy and the final climb is too shallow. The stage's profile would've been nice for a raid stage actually but with this being stage 1, I doubt attacks from afar will happen.

I think UAE sets a fast tempo on the tough climbs in the middle of the stage, tries to hold it for a sprint at the end, then hope Pogi finishes the job. They could also send Yates, Almeida, and Ayuso on the attack like they did with Yates on stage 1 last year.

Still it took super strong Vingo (also with Rogla's help) to take him down. The question is if any rival will be strong enough this year to challenge him.
The only way I see it this year (bar the accident) is in the backloaded third week of TDF.

This is why I expect UAE to attack immediately and try to provide him with some kind of buffer because (or despite) the fact that his main rival current form is uncertain. I belive they will at least try to wrap GC by the end of stage 9 if possible.

Finally we will see gc pog after years of classics bs.i always wondered, what pog could do on climbs,if he actually trained that *** for A WHOLE YEAR.last year, first time he was seriously climbing was in preparation for tour.lmao, thats not the way.pog after winning tour in 21 got greedy and believed,he will win tour regardless and lets focus on classics.he even fired/changed one of his coaches at UAE,who said that was bad career startegy, cause tour is tour.

They hated @mou because he was telling the truth

I agree with you stage 1 every team will also be fresh and the last climb like you say is not the hardest either with downhill and flat 15km to finish. But then again he is ridiculously strong so i never know.

I don’t know if he’ll last long. They hold a long long grudge around here that doesn’t relax until a generation of cyclists turns over
I agree but I don't think it is a grudge. Our parents always taught us that you must respect rules and etiquette (more so strickly as a newcomer) and he simply ignored too many rules insulting a few people in the process. And old habits die hard so another ban would probably be inevitable.

Back to the Pogi discussion it is ;)
