Lets hope he dont decide to turn up in the sprint and try to get top 10 there aswell :tearsofjoy:

Its just hard to believe isnt it guy is doing the best climbing performance of all time, then he is beating one of the best classics legends in Van der Poel and here Vingegaard gets a smackdown then next sprinting in mass sprints...imagine its just hard to even get its to wild how strong he is.

An amazing ride to cap off his spectacular season. Pogacar has been looking bette this year compared to previously yet there was some doubters. Proving many wrong this year and getting to kick dirt back into Visma’s eye.

What did Mou say? That Pogacar would never lose a stage race that he finished again or just into next year as well?
I heard despite dropping everyone this tour when he wanted he would struggle on long climbs cause he did last year when he had fracture always found that crazy logic..Make no sense to me at all for a facts standpoint.

Mou said that Pogi is going to win everything for the next 5 years

True it was originally the only thing I was concern for his sake the Giro fatigue and a burst from that from the gecko. But the form curve here doesnt seem to be a problem and unless thats the cause its no place left to take that time on him imo enough to just close the gap..

It looks like the Giro won't be an issue and they timed his peak shape perfectly. It also looks like the first year where they did preparations with grand tours in mind.

After 2021 TDF it looked like he can do it all and still win grand tours with ease. But then Vinge came on stage all guns blazing and Pog looked vunerable at times.

After this weekend he looks like stronger rider with stronger team.

I think he said he would not lose a stage race over the next 4 years

True but I will never get the 2023 pogacar was clearly never at this best for natural reasons. Not only did he lose prep okei but he had a broken wrist which wasnt even healed during the race. He said that in every rest day that the fracture still wasnt healed even so basicly still broken..imagine the energy the body spends on that. Just blows my mind when people use that as a reference thinking that was ever his true level :tearsofjoy:

But yea this new coach seems to have stepped it up a notch even not that I personally think it ever was close. Might have been somewhat close but yeah you get me.

You can always look in the history. Anyway

2023 is understandable as he had only couple of weeks to get ready. It was 2022 when he first found his cryptonite at grand tours and he had no answer that year. This year looks strong but it is still long way to Nice.

He is just the GOAT.

True before I was a nerd in cycling but when I even then hear every neutral guy say its cause Pogacar beat himself more than anything that year even Jumbo guys said it then I just think okei. But yeah thats just my two cents on it that it in reality never really been so close. But just me. Okei if im wrong :)

Anyway the past is not really that relevant to judge stage today then the reality of this year is far more relevant also is my point you get what i mean.

Nobody knows definitely. Probably not even riders themselves.

I was shellshocked after 2022 TDF defeat. As I was surprised after 2023 comeback only to see that ITT performance by Vinge and following mountain stage. Right now I am surprised how strong both Vinge and Pogi are.

It is charm of grand tours as shift of power and form can happen during 3 weeks. Sometimes it is only a racing day between tears and absolute joy.

Anyhow as fellow Slovenian I am always happy to be able to cheer for such a spectacular rider as Pog. If somebody would said to me 30 years ago that we will have not one but two compatriots capable of winning grand tours and classics I would call him crazy.

you think Mcnulty is sick😉😉😉. Pogacar adores little Del Toro and how he helped him destroy Strade Bianche, 15 minutes ago I received a message that Pog asked Matxin to include him, Matxin was not thrilled with the idea, that he had not recovered from Tireno, that he is young, 10 minutes later a message comes to Matxin from MATAR SUHAIL AL YABHOUNI AL DHAHERI and Del Toro has miraculously recovered and headed from San Marino to San Remo so miracles are always possible when you have the number of the real boss of the UAE
My favorite post!

I don't know what got these haters fired up, maybe you don't like the fact that you don't have information about Pog like me, how is it strange to anyone how Pog can be so much better in 2024 and he dominated the spring of 2023, well because he has a new coach who knows the job, unlike the previous one, worked on his 3 weaknesses, which were poorly managed altitude training, higher heat, and unstable TT position and too little TT training. huge funds were invested this year in TT material, a private physiotherapist in Monaco, Alex Baccili, an expert in TT exercises was hired to make it easier to maintain the aero TT position, a study was made of how much 165mm cranks bring him compared to the 172-170 he has so far used it and is one of the few who uses it successfully, his cadence went from 91 to 96 on average, Sola introduced him to heat training with regular training with the Core device, which they had never used before, even though Millan knew about the heat problem on the Tour for the last 3 years and nothing was done, and that's why Pogačar makes a statement that it seems to him that the training and preparation for 2024 is completely new and a shock to the body, a positive shock, and that's why you've already seen Pog on the Strade Bianche like you'll see on the Giro and the Tour only with 20-30 W more and Pog, in whom the heat of the Tour will not consume as much energy from stage to stage as before and who will not come out of the altitude camp before the Tour as overtrained as before, you who believe in what I wrote know that Pog is currently breaking personal records on the TT tests and that it is better on a 25-40min climb by 1.30-2.00min compared to its PB in 2023, remember that the Santa Maria sector in 2022 Pog drove in 21min and in 2024 in 19min, if something is not clear to someone now, never will be.....
This all tracks

So does Pogi now try and get another 3 stage wins in the last week now, given his lead and that he is clearly strongest? It's not like the Giro when he had to save himself for the Tour?

Or does he save himself for the Olympics? With Van Aert and Van der Poel not looking at their best, he might have a good chance in that? Or will he be too tired and it's not suited enough for him?

no one is like Pog in the history of cycling, not even Merckx, those were other times when people wiped their asses with leaves, when people worked in the post office, bank, construction in the morning and raced in the afternoon, so there is only modern cycling for me and Merckx it's not part of modern cycling, it's like someone telling me that Rod Laver is better than Federer and he played with the racket with which squash is played now, people are nostalgic so they are forgiven
Lmao
