Even more shocking is downgrading Pogacar and saying his wins are not impressive (e.g. Montreal, valter 2000 because his numbers aren't impressive, quebec because he is a overrated puncher, etc) however they become ecstatic because their rider gets a 3rd place in the Tour almost 10 minutes behind Pogacar (he would be 10 minutes behind if Pogacar rode stage 20 full gas).
So funny and sad at the same time.
Edit: Forgot to say one thing. He finishes almost 10 minutes behind but they say he will win a Tour because he was impressive, even after getting his a$$ kicked not only by Pogacar but also Vingegaard.

This is so true 👍

Even Merckx said he wasn't the best climber in his time. In today's era, that would mean he wouldn't be able to win GT's (at least the Tour). People who don't recognize that are just hurtful due to Pogacar being so much better than their favourite riders. They are already pushing the narrative double olympics and double WC are more impressive than Giro-Tour because no one has ever made it. TT in worlds only exist since 1995 or 1996, Olympics is a recent event too... and what is more funny is that supposed rider will not even win a Tour in his career, let alone a Giro-Tour.

You can just name me if you’re going to quote me you know. I don’t mind.

Thought id drop by and give the latest gossip ahead of the WC.

Word on the streeth is Pogacar just increasing the gap to everyone and while he has watts and power noone close to have before either, evident from the Tour couldnt be more clear, he is gonne get better and while the WC is stacked with the best riders in the world, well its gonne be a slaughter and he will make it look easy just like in the Tour and every other race he has been in this year.

Let's see if Slovenia can control the race until 50 km to go. If they do, I have zero doubts he will murder everyone in Witikon.

Besides cycling, what other profession Pogacar does in his life? Merchant? mechanic? Electrician? Since he is not 110% focused on cycling.

(Only recently saw this.)
Could it be that what he's doing is spending time with family and friends? Just generally having a life outside cycling.
I suppose - harsh as it might sound - that someone who is 110% focused on cycling would not miss out on defending a Monument title because his MIL was dying. However, Pogacar did just that, because he's not just a cyclists, he's also a nice young man, who just wanted to be there for the woman he loves.

Nice interview from Tadej.
At 36:00 listen to his opinion about the prestige of Olympics in cycling. Special shoutout to the Olympics fanboys here. Meme ciciban races.

Well for other cyclists who don’t compete for winning the Tour de France it’s a dream to participate, an honour and so on.
Different views, different opinions. Probably also because of the different countries where the athletes come from.

Whatever, enough of that Pogacar vs Evenepoel nonsense in a few days - hopefully we all are more clever on Sunday after we had the honour to watch a big battle of two of the best cyclists of our time.
Let’s leave it at that - this *** comparisons whose Palmares in the recent season are better, is just nonsense and leads to discussions going into wrong directions.
Keep that *** hating for football guys…

I’ve got to admit though that I wouldn’t change two Olympic titles for two Lombardias for example… and I bet Pogacar will definitely focus on Olympic Games 2028, especially if he has won everything else he could win by that time, which could and should be the case.

When they asked Cancellara, he says it's the biggest thing the general public remembers him by.

Thats’s pretty much the point. People that are into sports but not really into cycling at all - they don’t give a *** about Ronde or LBL or MSR - they just care about Le Tour and of course as a result of that also about Olympic titles. So yeah, I definitely believe what Cancellara says, at least in the DACH-region.

Yeah I know, but the point someone was trying to make was that the Olympics is also not important.

Yeah and Los Angeles loves to have rockstars. Pogacar is cycling's face now and he will be in the next 4/5 years for sure (unless something bad happens). So LA will give a route tailormade for him, I don't have any doubt about that.
