Yeah didn't he already extend earlier in 2024 for 8M/year?

This is just signalling on UAEs part.
Guy is getting minimum 10M/year and should get more(think he will get more) - if you compare him to other top riders salaries at least he should have double nr 2. The level up to him is well yeah speak for itself, every race he wants he is the fav, basically mopping up pro cycling as we speak.

Very marketable he is every sponsors dream as he is writting cycling history as we speak and it doesnt hurt that he is the most liked guy too with the most fans. Deserves every dime he gets and should be over 10M/year and it will.

This just seems like a great deal for both parties.

Pogačar has become the best rider of this century in UAE, so there is no reason for him to chance especially when his team has a bigger budget than any other.

For UAE, while Pogačar is a very expensive rider, he has become an absolute superstar this season and I believe that he has one half a decade at a very high level in him. He definitely provides some very good marketing for UAE.

Yes, signaling the arms race involves many PetrodollarspoundsfrancsLira.
Unless the UCI caps budgets and/or makes the team pay cap penalties into a fund shared with smaller budget teams any sense of fairness will disappear. That system has made the NFL parity equalized to an extent and driven up fan interest.

They still need to get rid of McNulty. He is not a team player
What can you say about a TT specialist? They either set tempo in GTs or pout until the TT. I don't know him but he fits the profile of every chrono specialist I ever teamed with from Cat 2 to Pro races. They are the worst breakaway companions, too. Can't go faster than is comfortable and can't sprint for sh*t.
On the other hand, he's a reasonable stage racer and can climb.

Read somewhere that it was 8 million

I hope it's even more than that!

He is perfect to help other guys. Not good enough to lead the team in any important race.

I mean compared to football/soccer or NBA etc. these are small sums of money, especially for a cyclist like Pog.
The reality in cycling is the sponsorship dollars are not enough. Maybe uae could buy out all of the talent? It feels that way at time, and they could fork out a billion and own all of the top riders. Maybe cycling or the riders should look at the business model of other sports and change how it operates.

Sharing TV coverage rights between teams is first thing that comes to mind. However, it is not a gold mine we may think it is. ASO (which I guess is the sole beneficiary of TV rights)has annual revenue of 200M USD. This is for all their events (of which, TdF makes roughly half the amount). And this is probably not all TV rights either - it's also regional contributions and all the other sponsors. Long story short -if there's a money to be shared it's that of ASO, PCS, and guys like that. And it's really not that much money, compared to teams' annual budget.

So it's not only sharing the revenue, it's also maximising it. There could be some form of tickets I think. Like FIS downhill is doing lately where they will take a additional fee to be on the mountain on the day a downhill takes place... Imagine if they were selling tickets for the top spots on TdF - Mont Ventoux, Alpe d'Huez, etc. For a couple of most prestigious climbs, you get millions of spectators each year, most of them willing to pay 20, 30 (or something in that area) EUR.

I like the idea of charging for select areas, especially for the VIP douche's. Teams should get a large share of that but the roadside is for the people...that's the heart of the sport's connection to everyman. It's not like a cyclocross venue that's contained, has beergardens, etc. Folks walk up long roads just to glimpse a passing group.
