Its about watts/cda
Yes, in general on the flats, it is watts/CdA but the cobbles eat up so much of the watts that CdA is less of a factor. It has been documented that you need almost twice the watts on cobbles vs the velodrome to maintain the same speed.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him win PR but the challenges are huge.

Yes i agree with that. Maybe because of that case he will leave out Dauphine but i am 99% sure he will ride Basque or Romandie. I don't really get why Vuelta next year but maybe he thinks nobody will challenge him there.
I think you’re right. I could see the vuelta waiting while focusing again on the wc again

He already dropped mvdp on flanders in 2023 with a quasi trainer imagine what he would do to him after 2 years with sola🤭 and ving well, on short climbs he cant even beat 2023 pog
I fully expect him to beat MVDP in Flanders. It’s the instant follow up against his other key rival that is tough. Either on their own is heavily weighted towards Pogacar but both is still a real ask.

He's got his GT groove on to the point he should achieve what he'd consider a satisfactory career, then go to the abuse of PR and other classics. If it works into his GT rotation without compromising those efforts, fine and do classics.
Once he goes down that road to dedicated classics he may not want to go back, for whatever reason. A one-off for experience isn't the same as being a dedicated cobble guy. I don't think he wins PR without that focus.
