Don't get fooled by what Pogacar did this year. We are probably talking about the best GT rider ever, he is not like other riders (and by "others" I mean GT legends like Froome or Contador).
Untill 12 months ago Vingegaard was widely considered as the better GT rider. I don't think it's fair to shift the balance like that untill Pogacar beats healthy Vingegaard. Keep in mind he hasn't done so just yet, so in my book they are equal.

If Pogacar can do Giro-Tour without his Tour being harmed by the Giro, I see no reason Vingegaard can't as well.
As yaf said the Giro without Roglic or Evenepoel would be just a training camp for him.

I also think they are very similar.

@mou responds to the topic of an Vingo do the double

“Difference between Pogi Giro-Tour and potentially Vini Giro-Tour is that Pog has one more gear and team.
UAE can send such a team that Vini will never have Giro as a training camp as some say like Pog had.
Vini can win the Giro, but he will work hard for it if he is not at 100%”

I need to know what @mou thinks about pogis fashion sense. @mou strikes me as a sharp dress man who drives a Mercedes and kills people for a living
A certain Austrian liked the Mercedes - plenty of room for your underlings and for waving to the masses -

I don't know. Valter-Tullett-Uijtdebroeks-Kruijswijk-Kelderman doesn't sound like a worse team than Laengen-Novak-Grosshartner-Majka to me.

And then Visma still have their A team for the Tour with DVB-Laporte-Benoot-WVA-Jorgenson-Yates-Kuss.

I mean, Visma are also stacked enough to send a strong team to the Giro and make it a training camp. Okay, depending on competition of course.

Visma is stronger than UAE. Simon Yates has a higher ceilling than Adam. In fact I am expecting Simon to get back his 2018 level in Visma. If we add Matteo and a good Kuss, UAE is gonna be in troubles.

Agreed. Almeida was somewhat helpful but despite finishing high on the one stage that another team (Visma) set the pace he was dropped early.
I can see situations where Vingegaard has Kuss, S. Yates and Jorgenson while Pogacar only has Adam. Of course, Almeida will probably finish 4th or something but that doesn't help.

Of course it is all about Pogacar vs Vingegaard. Vingegaard can have Yates, Kuss, Matteo in a mountain and Pogacar being isolated that doesn't matter, Pogacar can still drop Vingegaard and no one will help Vingegaard.

On most of the stages yeah, it comes down to the MTF. If Pogacar/Vingegaard gets isolated on Madeleine though things may be tricky. H

Vingegaard will have to drop Pogacar in order to win the Tour so Pogi only needs to follow Vingegaard. He can be isolated for the whole race. It doesn't matter, he just needs to follow Vingo's wheel.

Yes, that's true but we both know that Pogacar won't just follow probably.

Almeida dropping early helped Pogacar pull an uno reverse on Vingegaard. Visma were cocky af till Pogacar attacked. Both teams should be in similar shape though but Visma has the better all arounders, it’d just be what stages they pick out.

Almeida drops early but he always come back. He is very reliable and can put a high tempo for long minutes.

If Almeida gest dropped (by Jorgenson/Simon Yates) before he sets a pace he isn't coming back before the attacks start. He is reliable WHEN UAE controls. I don't think he'll be in much of a use if/when Visma controls. See PdB as example.

Visma is not gonna work until stage 18. I'm pretty sure UAE will try to win the race in Pyrenees.

They are not gonna wait for stage 18. The least thing they will try to do is accumulate fatigue in the Pyrenees. Fairly sure they will want to control at least one of them 2 stages.
