Incredible if manages that in his first attempt, but just a good result would motivate him to try again. That it would be possible.

He has taken every defeat in big races with grace and just come right back each time even more motivated.
Yup but I'm a little bit afraid of crashes. It is his first race and he doesn't have any experience in those cobbles at 50 kph, at least in a peloton with more than 150 riders.
I don't want him to miss his normal preparation to the Tour.

That's the way it's. Racing is risky. Cobbles are risky but so is a stage race on Basque roads. PR can jeopardize his Tour campaign but he will try it at some point anyway, be it this year or next.

It looks like MVDP and WVA will not ride Gent Wevelgem. Easy win for Pogacar.

I really like that pogacar will probably ride many races where he is not the clear favourite (MSR, E3, GW, PR) and dont just ride the races he wins easy.

If he wins these races he really is the greates on all terrains.

MVP didn't win last year despite being so much better.

He made 1 attack all race. Pogacar was the one lifting the intensity on the bergs creating separation on at least three occasions.

You must have watched a different race to the rest of the world.
Did you really watched the race?

In addition to at least one stupid attack, he wasted a lot of energy due to some stupid statical mistakes and back luck.

He had to recover and close the gap to WVA and Pogacar after his chainring had some problems.

He also had to spend a lot of energy 55 km from the finish line because he had to surpass almost all of the peloton because he was in bad position aftet the attack of pogacar.

It was to much energy wasted before the final climb.

This in isolation is just so extremely comical based on RvV 2022 alone.
Imagine saying this after a race with 250 km, 6 hours on the saddle where you were the strongest rider in the race but you don't even get the opportunity to sprint because Van Baarle decides to close your line (in the central part of the road) and ended up sprinting close to the barriers.

Pogacar only had himself to blame for throwing away his best chance for a win (a long sprint à deux) instead leaving it to the final 100 meters with a group joining from behind. I think he realized that too which is why he was so upset afterwards. However you saw things on that day, it was not grace in the face of a major defeat.

Pog knew he did a stupid mistake.

No, this is simply not true. He was robbed in two occasions: 2020 LBL and 2022 RVV. Saying a thing like that is not respect the pain and suffering riders have during a 250 km race specially when Van Baarle really did a irregular sprint. Did he make on purpose? Probably not, however it was wrong. Just analyze where he starts and where he finishes his sprint.

LBL 2020 I agree with you but in RVV 2022 it’s all on Pogacar as he should never have allowed any other riders to get back in the picture.

Had he locked back, Mathieu would have launched his sprint. Pog wasn't aware of riders coming back, and Mathieu timed it perfectly.

Pog should have sprinted for second.

9th in line at the time Pogacars final teammate pulled over at the base of the Kwaremont does in no way equate to ‘had to surpass almost all of the peloton’
