not that this photo really shows what actually happened, but I still like it a lot :D

You really like him or is it only because he's a significant hurdle to Jumbo, a team you want more people to dislike?

I like him, I liked his 2020 Planche wild ride, I liked his Alrgarve 2019 stage win, I liked his attacking Vuelta in 2019. but the Tour 2022 made me a fan.
I don't want anybody to like or dislike any team/rider, I care about who I like/dislike. and I dislike Jumbo, no offence, no hate, they are very strong, it would be great to like them, but I don't. so surely I appreciate if Pogacar beats them

He’s fun to watch. He’s not my favorite rider, but I don’t root against anyone. Hell I can even sort of root for Froome to at least show a little bit of form these days. I’m a Mas fan, but I can still appreciate Roglic and not root for him to lose today because Mas/Landa ain’t going to out sprint him in any case.

That is also why the critique of Bruyneel is so backwards. We got riders like Pogchamp and many more (Mathieu, Wout, Remco, Pidcock e.g.) who just ride on instinct, who ride like they could give two sh!ts about tomorrow. That should be applauded. They couldn't promote cycling better if they tried.

Instead there are boomers who are still stuck in 2002 where the TDF is be-all and end-all.
I think great appetite is to be applauded, wanting to win everywhere and every day.

Riding just on instinct should not. You often need to make decisions faster than what conscious thoughts allow, so you need a good nose, strong instincts. But racing is richer and deeper when reason is a servant to those instincts, when riders are actually able to give second thoughts and allow for strategic considerations.

Always pulling in a group can be good for strong riders, who favours a simple race that comes down to strength. It's just not for everyone, nor should it be.

Looks like Pogi has this race under control. Still a demanding stage ahead tomorrow. But queen's stage settled on who is currently who.

As for Boonen debates. Hard to judge as i don't have all the details but likely he does have a point.

He has a busy schedule. And now he even added E3 to his races. Is he expending to much energy before the Tour?

I don't think he'll ride Amstel. LBL is too important and he also needs freshness for LFW (where he has underperformed so far). Judging by his performances and cycles I think he may not be able to keep top form beyond mid-April so reducing races can be a way to keep some freshness. I'm expecting vintage Pogacar until RVV but not necessarily afterwards.

Great effort today. Pogacar is a monster on those 15-25 minute climbs, almost unbeatable. Since he reached his prime I don't remember him being dropped on such climbs, except Milano-Torino 2021. His lactate clearance must be exceptional during intense efforts above the anaerobic threshold.

Itis favolous to have riders like him.

Pogacar is a gift for a cycling fan.

I dont thinbks this kind of echibitions will be a problem for le tour in his case. Maybe yes in other riders.
I dont think Vingegard is uch less strong now or even takeing easy. He was maybe less motivated after first defeat, but he was close to fill the gap with Popgacar after been him forst to attack..and he cracked..That is maybe worse looking at le Tour de France, than what Poggu made today, becouse is was a very well designed stage for him, Eze suits him very well (he is very good at everything anyway) and he is a rider able to keep an attack till the end similar strong. To compare with contador, he was agressive, Exe suit jhim very well as well, he had an attack similar to Pogacar. I will say even bettter, but maybe I am wrong, but after 2 km attack, he started to fade a little....so, for example today Poggy would have won with 40 second if he dont celebrate at the end...Contador would have won with 20.

And he has try to win the most possible and to ride for cycling fans as well. so, it is a mistake to say he is riding bad now. This will be always in our memories, in le Tour he can crash or something...you cant put everything on a race. To win is always make feeling well and that is the best natural and legal doping you can take.
