Techincally you can, but its not usual. Kolobnev's hotel near Valencia where Remco and Van der Poel often go is the only one that I know of, though there may be more.
In Slovenia, Planica nordic centre:
ten rooms (20 beds) in the Dom Planica hotel (up to 6000 meters above sea level), test facilities (up to 6000 meters above sea level) and sports halls (up to 2500 meters above sea level).

Meanwhile they are banned in Italy and for Italian athletes even outside of Italy. Frankly, I find it absurd and the Italian NADA and laws should just be in line with the WADA code, because this way you're only hurting your own athletes.

Also Chat GPT was banned in Italy. 🙄
I know that "alpinists" are using this hotels too, before going to Himalaya.
At least with Chat GPT I can understand the privacy concerns.
Meanwhile stuff like the altitude tent ban and Italy getting all butthurt about stuff like nutri-score and banning it (because stuff like olive gets a bad score) is just a joke.

If a wrist injury doesn't heal, every severe bump in the road becomes your biggest aggravation over a 5 hour race. It's not something you could ignore for long.

Not sure why his injury shouldn't heal. It's a wrist fracture, not brain surgery. Surely by the time he has to race in mid-June the injury will no longer limit him. The question is how much the injury affects the preparation....

That's 100%. But Healy had been racing for a month and a half after this and was in pretty good shape.
Wrist injuries aren't like breaking a femur. There are many nerves running through the area and, while gripping and pulling may be possible it isn't always pain free. Healy's situation could be different but I think both guys will be fine. Tadej, in particular has enough history and success to take the time needed for long term recovery. He had some hardware added which can complicate comfort. He knows what he's doing.

i really dont think you can compare 'broken wrists' among athletes. Who knows the severity or placement of each one

The point was that with a few weeks of indoor training, he can build himself up to a pretty good level before the training camp at altitude. As Haely's example shows, not being able to train outside is not the end of the world. I wasn't comparing injuries.

By the way, it would have been nice to see him at the Giro, as he is visiting a specialist in Italy to get a lighter brace. He was only 25 kilometres from yesterday's finish. But it probably would have been an unnecessary risk after the Covid incidents...
