The point was that with a few weeks of indoor training, he can build himself up to a pretty good level before the training camp at altitude. As Haely's example shows, not being able to train outside is not the end of the world. I wasn't comparing injuries.

By the way, it would have been nice to see him at the Giro, as he is visiting a specialist in Italy to get a lighter brace. He was only 25 kilometres from yesterday's finish. But it probably would have been an unnecessary risk after the Covid incidents...
You are right. With the popularity of using indoor trainers due to the pandemic I am surprised so many here don’t realise how smart trainers can provide a high level of training without racing or riding on the road. There is also the example of Jay Vine who won two MTFs at the Vuelta on the back of Zwift racing and prep.

All is not lost for Pogi - yet.

Just stay in your kitchen into Tour de France. Covid is crazy out here.
Where is “here”? Worldometer is the official stat and I see nothing to be alarmed about?

So Teddy finally starting outdoor training! They will assess his level in the coming week to see how much behind he is with his form and then they will make decisions what to do next (regarding his races).

Before Pogi crashed in LBL, I thought he would handily defeat all challengers in the TDF. I still think he'll win it. Also, his image might benefit from not appearing to be a deity among mortals for the race. He might even be able to play the underdog card for a little while.
It worked for his Countryman. Belgian fans eternally convinced someone else "would've won". Pogacar is still the reigning phenom.
