This was just setting the stage for a shock. You can’t show who you really are if they already know who you really are…
All the fuss, I believe the first time the wonder helmet won a race was Anna Henderson in the British champs as recent as two weeks ago.

I would have thought you were serious without the emojis. Top marks.
Though I am serious that Mou or one of his alter egos would have similar "explanation" how it is possible for UAE to have information about burned calories of their competitors ;)

It was posted on strava by the riders themselves. In the video they show screenshots.

Now instead of here to get inside information from @mou first, we just listen to johan bruyneel for the same information (from mou). Today’s scripture from @mou is to look at pogis energy expenditure efficiency compared to competitors. 3600 calories expended stage 5 by Jorgensen, 2600 by ramco, 1600 by pogi.
That sounds like total bs to me.
They spend a similar amount of time in the wind and rode the same stage, how in the hell would there be such a big difference in Kcal expended (unless motorized "support" is in place)?

Absurd pseudoscience bs.

Yeah, Bruyneel is a DS, he knows less about exercise physiology than random yoyos in the clinic, nobody is expending 1600 calories on a windy TDF stage unless they're on a motorbike.

Maybe you are right. But I think this is not the right place to discuss this but you made a really good point here.

Odds is dropping significantly on Pogacar. Think he actually will win.

Watching Thomas ride and how lackluster he is now after the Giro and Pog beat him 10 min its just hard to think he will be this strong enough here to win on a course like this vs Remco but he is the golden boy nothing surprise me about him anymore.

I was expecting a little bit better but maybe he isn't good enough (compared to Ganna or Evenepoel) in flat sections. But he still gained time to everyone bar Remco!

Comparing this with the 30km flat Giro ITT, i was expecting a loss of 20/25s from Remco and a gain of 20s on Jonas.
So it ended a slightly better.

No way he couldn't have matched Remco. If I remember correctly , Pogacar lost 29s from Ganna in ~30kms. Since Ganna is heavier and stronger on the pure flats than Remco...losing just 12s it's a very good result.

As all along the year, I would still make the argument that there is no "new" Pogacar. He would have won every Giro over the past 3 years by 10min, has he ridden it. Will be interesting. He is the favourite. But 1:15s to Vingegaard is certainly not up to plan, and Slimco Evenepoel also holds the pace of Giro-Pogacar better than expected so far. I hope he wins, but it will not be easy.

What we have seen from this Tour:

- Long sprint in the last meters in Galibier
- TT where Remco was the main favorite.

After this I think the difference is quite important, imagine if they had already gone through harder stages...

If you look at kung 1min with accident and vaquelin and campenaets I think today was a day it wasnt big differences and hard to make big differences in that wind which favoured speed. That played apart in the times gaps clealy.

Hard to make big differences with the time was what I was trying to make a point of. With Vaquelin and Campenaets so close and Kung only 1min with accident. Good TT by all top 4 think they all can be happy which is kinda wierd :tongueout:
