It's not like Pogacar has a good track record in doing a full rebuild for a September World champs
You are right but this year seems different. WC was a target since day one and he will prove that, specially in a country with a perfect weather for him (at the end of september) and a course tailormade for him.

There were only two seasons in Pog's career when the Tour and the World Championships were on the usual schedule. Once the course just wasn't for him. The second time he won in Montreal right before the World Championships. So I don't think there's a pattern here...

Last year seemed like the first time he went at WC with determination. His assault continues this year

So we're left to assume 2022 fall buildup was more about Lombardia than WC?

Guess it makes sense.

Pogacar always managed to rebuild his form for Lombardia (a short lasting mini-peak). He should be able to build his form for this WC as well (clearly one of his targets this year and takes place quite late as well - 29th of September).

Probly

To be perfectly honest I don't think his Lombardia form is the most terrifying for a WC.

Probably not but his form in general this year is more terrifying than in the previous years and so should be his WC form (vs previous autumns), I guess. He's had a long period without races (no Olympics or WC in the summer), I think that by the WC they will have prepared his mini-peak well.

Around 5w/kg for 6,5 hours? Hahahaha ***
Hahaha 326 np for 6,5 with that weight, make it make sense please. Thats just otherwordly. He's gonna be very good in Canada and maybe win one or both, but who cares, he's gonna win Zurich easily. Nobody can also him back on such a course apart from Remco, and Im not at all convinced by Remco being able to achieve a monster peak (which he needs) after the Olympics.

It was a joke because Red Rick always says Pogacar is quite lucky. In a way I also find Pogacar to be lucky, but he deserves all his wins. He works hard and it’s a joy to see him race.
Yeah, I got it.

In a way, I found Remco very lucky as well.

But you can only compete against those who show up, so luck has always been, and will always be, a part of every sport.
