I really liked UAE plan last year, but they drilled too early before the cipressa and got caught out at the bottleneck at the bottom of the Cipressa. Novak, Politt, and Wellens can set Pogi off under the right positioning on a replay of tactics next season.

If he can hold off an elite field like this while essentially solo for the vast majority of 2 hours 15 minutes then maybe the strategy of team drilling the Capi at max speed then going from the bottom of the Cipressa then into TT mode is no longer just a pipe dream.
But you need strong roulers for that as well in the team. They wanted to drill early this year. But couldnt keep up with other stronger teams on the flat. Before Cipressa they got completely swamped. It took them almost half of it just to get to the front with Del Toro and so on. Ulissi, Hirschi and other guys where nowhere.

Wellens was huge.

I think we will see a different team next season for that race.

Vermeersch could make a great difference on the flat as well before Cipressa. Keeping the team in the front.

Next year he will be double WC. TT is full of hills
I assume WC will return to August after le tour, which will be Pogi's main problem. If so, running the giro again will extract the necessary energy. Pogi will want to collect as many WCRR as he possibly can. One is great, but 3 is even better.

No, they will not move WC to August. It's fuc#ing Rwanda (Africa), in August you have almost 50°

Narvaez should help there as might Florian Vermeersch along with Pollitt/Bjerg/Stake Laengen then Wellens and Del Toro for the pre-attack setup.

All those teammates are great until they get dismantled before the bottleneck like they did last year. I am certain they will do everything in their power to correct positioning.

This race will go down with the rest this season will go down in the history not only for the result but also the fashion of it and in 50-100 years people will talk about Pogacar in ways which are hard to imagine.

Thats just it and what will happen no matter if your fav rider lost or not. He is in a league of his own by anyone in the history of this sport.
