The thing is that if everything goes right, Pogačar could finish the 2025 Tour with a fourth win in the race, RVV, LBL and several wins in other World Tour races. Given that the Worlds and Lombardia are still coming up, he can still do one of the best seasons ever without even going to the Vuelta, so he might very well choose this as it is less taxing on his body.

I also believe in this but I think he will not race the Vuelta due to his newborn son and WC.

It is the smartest thing to do if everything goes to plan and I hope that is what happens.

Pog opens a race whenever he wants. its not 2023 or 2022 pog where he must wait till the final lap like in emilia with mas & roglic in those years. 2024 pog like we all saw it in emilia he can open races way early and make it an attrition race where nys 3 minute power becomes irrelevant even though i still think pog has better fresh 3 minute power than nys

Idk why people are afraid for pogs wc chances if he rides vuelta. Vuelta 2025 is the perfect fit for pog with the race entirely ridden in north spain which is characterized by foggy & cooler weather conditions in late august & September. Even if ving goes to vuelta he knows he has no chance against even 2023 pog let alone 2024/25 pog in this weather conditions. So dont worry guys, pog will play his easiest grand tour in spain🤝

Yeah, only WC TT preparation will get hurt if he races the Vuelta.

It looks that way.

He will have a week off after spring is done. Then start building towards Dauphine and the Tour. Likely taking a break after that if everything goes to plan is my prediction, which I think is smart longterm. Then try to win Worlds + Lombardia.

They might have another idea and then I trust they know best. We will see what happens.

If he races Dauphiné, he will face Vingegaard. It will be exciting!

After what we saw in 2024 I think Pogi should see how he feels after the Tour. If still feeling fresh he should give Vuelta a try. He can expect a massive fight from Vingegaard and Visma.

I don’t think this necessarily compromises his attempt to defend his worlds title, it depends how much energy he uses up against Vingo. After all in 2024 he still demolished Lombardia at the end of the season despite being flying since Strade Bianche on March 2. 2024 I think suggests when Pogacar has optimal preparation his recovery is the best in the world - yes, better than Jonas Vingegaard who has never attempted similar feats.
