in discussing his 2030 contract with Gianetti and the sheiks, what do you think Pog got a deal for? I mean not money, but what do you think they asked for? ride the TDF every year? could he have said ok but when I win 5 I'll then chose my own calendar?
with performance like Flanders, he can ask for whatever he wants to Gianetti and Matxin

He can do whatever he wants. They will never have a rider like him. For some reason, he will race PR and Gianetti didn't want it to happen

Pog is an artist and artists need their freedom. I think UAE understand some things may not make sense to them which make sense for the artist and don't object too much. Proof is him being in PR.

But when it comes to TdF, even an artist says it's the greatest race there is and he wants to do it. He said so in one of his podcast interviews. And if you don't trust his own words compare his frustration when he is 2nd in TdF to when he comes 2nd in any other race.

This is Pogacar's world and we are living in it. Remarkable rider! He is on his way to become the record holder of 3 monuments. Somehow his record in LBL is underwhelming. He had bad luck already 3 times in this race.
He can win for sure 6 LBL and break the record for most wins, he is the clear favorite every year. Let's wait a few weeks.

He can have half the record in days.

Of course there are more chances of crashes in PR if it is wet. But I'm the only one to think, his chances are bigger in a wet PR? Attritional race, luck can be more on his side (or not), he really delivers in wet conditions. He may have a disadvantage in bike handling compared to MVP, but I believe he can compensate that with his superior engine.
I also believe, despite being more dangerous, it will be to his advantage.

Can you imagine a mud version, total carnage, and Pog winning, cracking everyone?

Can't wait anymore

I think pogi signed a bad deal. He’s way underpaid compared to superstars in sports. The buyout is stupid high

Maybe we are in the moment but Its crazy to think that in 4 months time he is riding solo on the vontouxs & lozes of france breaking records riding against the smallest guys in the peleton while now he is taking the sh** out of the big 80 kg guys who were preparing all year for this specific goals on their terrain. No matter who u support as a fan u have to raise up & applaud this champion because you may never see anything like this in your life 🐐🐐🐐

I just hope he gets to May without major injuries.

I’m not certain the sheikh is nearly as interested in classics as the tour based on eyeballs alone. My only evidence is the little details said and unsaid. Bruyneel says this is absolute objective of sponsors. Everything else is a risk.

Yep Tdf is always the biggest objective for owners & sponsors of the teams. Classics were mostly for those flemish, france italy people and if we look back 10-20 years ago there were people who doesn't even know if cycling exists somewhere other than the Tdf. So it should be for the sheikh as well but if you want to win it u have to make happy the one you want to win with.

It’s not clear pogi can win #4. It’s a disaster if he doesn’t. At least for the sponsor. Every year thereafter the same story. That’s drudgery for anyone really. Win or failure. There is nothing else that matters. Even if he wins for what? Armstrong won the damn thing 7 times. Does that mean pogis legacy is tied ti exceeding that?

Even for us. Pogacar put the bar so high that even if he wins RVV, PR, LBL, his season will be disappointing without a win in the Tour.

Well for me a loss to Vingo spices everything up a little. You got one guy who leaves the hyperbaric chamber only for July to beat pogi, while Pogi wins a couple of monuments (podiums the rest of them) and worlds and/or maybe another GT.

We saw in 2024 what Pogacar can do when his head and training is only focused on performing in the mountains.

For him its probably not that of a big deal but for the team its all their funds allocated for one big goal & its the tour. After the tour last year we saw an unusual anger of gianneti on ayuso for hiding on gallibier and quitting the race once he gets sick & after seeing that gianneti punished him by leaving him out of vuelta. After watching that i realized for managers or owners of teams the tour is bigger than their stars. I wish we get the live cam on gianneti & matxin in the bus watching roubaix. I bet those 6 hours will be the most stressfull hours in their life
