After two solid wins at RVV over Van der Poel even the most devout fans must admit that Pog is the greatest rider of this generation. He might not be able to challenge the best at CX or MTB but in every road race he is the main protagonist, from GTs to one day classics of every kind (maybe with the exceptions of races such as Ghent Wevelgem). On the road MVDP is less versatile.
There is a significant chance (risk) that Pog wins P-R. It looks to be dry, hence not overly technical, and with the help of his team making it a superhard race Pog could probably go alone from Orchies and possibly even earlier (Arenberg?). It would not surprise should that happen but I wouldn't like it to play out that way. A sprint between MVDP, Pedersen, Ganna and Pog would be ideal in that order.
ps. amazing that in the 80s average speed was around 38 km/h. Now they're over 45 km/h
