Anytime you blow out 99.5% of the field it will only take minor adjustment to win. Pogi has to race this thing every year now

He's almost certainly going 3,1,2,1,1 and 1 in WC.

If I'm honest, even if it was the other way around - Pogi not crashing and MVDP with a puncture - I still think MVDP wins. But Pogi is the second best Roubaix racer on the planet right now and that's not bad at all. One year things will go his way.

There’s something about going into the limit in the chase that seems to benefit the race leader. Not so sure pogi doesn’t stay away in that scenario

Yep. It was disappointing to see him wasting an opportunity of winning PR with a stupid mistake but good performance overall.

I am happy. He will win LBL and Il Lombardia.

So 3 wins, 1 2nd , 1 3rd.

Not bad at all.

Great showing, really. I didn't expect more than that before the race. He made a mistake but fortunately no big crash happened. He must be fed up with the cobbles for now (the way he zig-zagged with 7 km to go was comical). Now time for rest and then Liege.

Yeah. I think it would have been hard. But MVDP could have made a mistake as well. He was all over the road in the end.

Pog unfortunate and unlucky, but can hold his head high finishing 2nd. He will be back!

But 2nd place, and exploding the race like he did, absolute total carnage, was glorious to see.

Also, this year, he will destroy everyone in LBL, WC and Il Lombardia.

MVP has an awesome watts engine so his endurance in a race like PR is great. Pogacar's superior watts per kilo engine doesn't give an advantage here but it's not that surprising, still a great performance.

Sadly we didnt get to see a real battle and losing his power meter when chasing was very bad. Really unfortunate and unlucky with the crash, but that is also racing. They were racing for it and he misjudged the corner. Made a mistake. Something he can work on and he will be motivated to come back. Thats something to be optimistic and positive about.

That he finished a very clear second in his first participation as a pro is really encouraging.

He didn't crash out. Zero injuries before the Ardennes treble. I hope he can maintain this shape.

Very good post. He will improve a lot and his level is getting better and better.

I think they also may have messed up the feeding. Pog was relying on himself a lot to be positioned near the front and I saw him with only one bottle and no teammates around for some time. I think those are details that had some impact as well and we saw later he had to get feeding from the car.

There are definitely things and details to improve.

Despite that, he still finished 2nd and crashed in what ultimately decided the race.

I dunno but I would be surprised with Amstel. Flandres+PR combo is devastating to the body. Maybe they will keep Fleche.

Where he was unlucky was the chain coming off when he had his mishap. Without that happening he would have got back to MVDP.

Looking at how MVDP performed after the crash, I don't think pogacar would have dropped him. On carrefour he was flying. Anwyay after the feasibility of the Cipressa attack, today is another hint that he will win PR (and MSR) one day.
