And? 3 years after his breakthrough in the Vuelta, he needs to step up. He is young but he needs to show he is good enough in GTs.
You just need to relax.
He has showed he is good enough in them already and have great potential to win one in the future. Better prospects than many others as of now.
He is still only 22. Plenty of time left for him.
Pog, Vinge, Roglic and maybe Remco are right now very hard to beat. They wont be around forever though.
Ayuso has already won some big races. His time will likely come and he is on a long contract for one of the best teams around.
Saying he is screwed just seems very overdramatic.

No worries. It is very possible that could happen. Either way, he is not screwed. It would be too early to say that, whatever your views are on him. Hey... maybe he will get a new coach in the future, eh?

He is screwed inside UAE if he doesn't perform well in this Giro (not top3). Almeida looks better than ever and will demand leadership in the Giro next year.No worries. You are not seeing a scenario with both Almeida and Ayuso in the same team as leaders. We will have so much drama.

Honestly, with regard to the Tour and Pogacar, it doesn't matter what happens in the Giro.
The only thing is that Yates doesn't have any accidents and arrives in good shape at the Tour.
Last year, UAE failed in the GC at the Vuelta. That didn't affect Pogacar at all.

I know but I care about Almeida so I want Ayuso to leave the team.
He actually only won Basque 2024 (where everyone crashed) and T-A 2025 without big 4. So i wouldn't call those races big but IF-it was really with bad competition. So i don't see where does this agenda "he is a winner" is coming from. Also if he doesn't win Giro, he will not win anything relevant this year. Next year he will already be 23.. Also Pogacar, Vingegard and Remco are not going anywhere next 5 years and they will try to race 2GC per year.

He will arrive in good shape. Like I already told you, he just needs to be good in 5 stages and his Tour will only start on July 17th. Almost 7 weeks after this Giro.

Yes, he was extremely lucky to win PV and his TA win was against a weak field in a very underwhelming route. Ganna was second...
correct...my favorite part of last year's tour was almeida calling out lazy ayuso for not pulling for pogacar on stage 4. guy showed his colors. all about himself. not a team player.
I like Almeida too but saying Ayuso is screwed is just wrong.

This is coming from a former cyclist on a team that dominated the GTs. Were he worried about the Vuelta's audience in 2023 when they decided not to compete?
The hatred that Visma has for Pogacar is insane.
Pogacar sees them as rivals, but I've never heard him say anything like this about Visma.
However, this isn't the first time several Visma cyclists have said something bad about him.
At Visma, they don't know how to win (what they said about FDJ and the beers, or how the others weren't doing their jobs well), and they don't know how to lose either.
It's very toxic to experience a rivalry like this. It doesn't surprise me that Vingegaard might be mentally burned out with teammates who talk about a rival all the time in an unhealthy way.
It's not healthy to experience sport or rivalry like this. This isn't the first time they've spewed hate to Pogacar. This comment from a fellow professional is very toxic.

After stage 20 of the 2020 TDF Visma can't stand Pogacar. Pog sees them as competitors while they see him as an enemy.
There are multiple examples of this. I remember when van Hoydonck chased down and stuck to Pogacar's wheel on Champ's Elysees just to intimidate him.
I also remember how they were mocking him after the '' I'm gone, I'm dead'' moment.
I also remember the arrogant Plugge saying after last year' s Giro '' Let's see if Pogacar will dominate like this in the Tour against better riders''. Niermann' s words about Pogacar: 'He' s totally f###ed. Come on, you'll kill him! ''.
I like Jonas but I can' t stand Visma. Nothing gives me more relief than watching that team lose.

Do you guys think Pogačar would favour a boring race just because he usually takes suspense out of the race? How is it saying something bad about Pogačar if you say winning by ten minutes is boring? I don‘t know what to tell you, some people find that boring.
