Absolutely. The idea that the giro is a good training for the tour (which I've heard everywhere) is one of the most stupid things I've heard. Even when winning the giro as easily as pog did you can't control and plan your efforts, can't do intervals, heat training... This year his tour preparation is better than last year, I really believe he will make another step compared to tdf 24

If he's not going to give his all and think about his position, he shouldn't go, like Ayuso.

The importance of the tour is so valuable to a sponsor, to have a second realistic option is a luxury they will not waste.

Plus he likely won’t be used as a domestique in the first week and able to do his best to limit losses as Wellens/Narvaez much better to launch the rocket into orbit.

Yup. Last year, Ayuso wasn't doing anything so this team is an upgrade and I'm curious to see Pogacar in stages 2,4,6,7,10 with Wellens and Narvaez leading him out.

Curious to see yates form going without altitude training. I hope he turns up good otherwise we might miss almeidas potential for podium with him working earlier on the climbs

The sponsor only cares about winning the Tour; all other positions are secondary.
It's more important to have seven domestiques than to focus on secondary positions and finish like the Giro.

He will be fine. I'm pretty sure he will be in the tail of the peloton until stage 10 and ride himself into shape.

I was seeing the first week of the Tour and thought "who is gonna beat Pogacar in stages 4, 6, 7 and 10?"
Stage 4 after what I saw in Combloux and Huy will be a hard test even for Vingegaard to follow Pogacar.
Stage 6 is almost a sure bet.
Stage 7, maybe MVP or WVA can give him a fight?
Stage 10, maybe a break?

Stage 4, MVP will be murdered. Only chance for him is praying for Vingegaard to follow Pogacar.
Stage 6, he doesn't have a chance also.
Stage 7, maybe.
