Pogi must give them hell.

Visma mocked Pogi for years, it is now punishment o'clock.

Ladies and gentlemen fasten your seat belts 🔥

Y'all must've forgot. Vinge lost last year because he couldn't prepare properly with his broken ribs and collarbone, he basically came off the couch and took 2nd place. Y'all must've forgot how it ended the prior two years. Dauphine says nothing, Jonas will come back in top form from Fignes, all while Pog has already peaked.

Vingegaard was cruising in the Dauphine 2022.

I believe Pogacar can make history in 3 weeks:
- First rider since Merckx to win GJ, YJ, PDJ. He just needs to target the green jersey.
- Stage wins record holder. The first week will be important and I think 2 stage wins are a sure deal.
- First rider since Merckx to win RVV and TdF in the same season.

Wait for the 3rd week with some multi mountain stages

Prud'homme created a scenario where Pogacar will likely go all out in order to win 3 stages.
If we add the MTT, Superbagneres and one hilly stage in the first week, we have 6 stage wins for Pogacar.

But is he obsessed about those particular climbs because he was dropped there? Mt Ventoux is very prestigious so he will want to win there. Loze was a terrible experience so maybe he will want to win this time. I don't think he's thinking too much about winning Hautacam.

Hautacam is the first test in the mountains, if he feels well he will go for the win there, there's no doubt

No, he won't. He is loyal and Hautacam will give us a clar idea of that. Never compare him with Ayuso again, please. I get migraines when I read things like this.
I compare him to Ayuso because Ayuso also gave an interview last year saying he wanted the podium and a stage.
I think it's a big mistake for Almeida to give an interview and say the same thing as Ayuso.

Whether he'll do it remains to be seen. Last year, the only one who sacrificed himself was Adam Yates. Almeida went at his own pace to take fourth place. He didn't drop back after pushing hard for Pogacar. That's the reality, or we've seen different Tour2024.

We don't know how Almeida will act, because he didn't last year. But that interview doesn't help.
Saying that his goal is the podium makes him look like Ayuso.

If one day he finishes 10 minutes behind because he's a domestique, it will be different. But if he finishes third, it will be like last year when Almeida didn´t even drop Jan Hirt or Derek Gee because he was at his own pace and then finished fourth in every stage.

If it´s as you say, its incompatible with saying that ´his goal is to be on the podium.

UAE can put pressure on everyone immediately but especially Wout, Jorgenson, and Visma..most of first 10 days ( -TT?) Suit Van Aert for green or stages, will Visma allow Wout to race for results or play more conservative and reserve all team energy for Vingegaard? UAE is not going to repeat , on purpose any Del Toro deja vu..they have a plan, only question is how many teams are going to chase the rabbits.. And 2025 reference.. Almeida can drop Gee or Hirt like a dirty diaper on hot July afternoon!!

You compare him but you should not compare. It is an insult.

One thing is to finish fourth because Pogacar doesn't need him, and another thing to go in with the preconceived idea of finishing third. No one but Pogacar should go in with any other idea than helping out. Then, if they don't need him and he can get away with it like last year by going at his own pace, great for him. But the other thing is going in with a personal goal, and that's never good. Ayuso had his idea of a podium finish, and when they needed him, it was a disaster. Almeida was lucky that he never had to sacrifice himself, but ut he can't go to the Tour with the idea of finishing third and saying so. It's a conflict of interest with the potential role of a domestique if they need him.

Ayuso was very criticized last year for saying he had personal goals at the Tour, it's the same situation.

The Dauphine actually says everything. Jonas couldn't apply effort to stay on Tadej's wheel in almost any situation Pogacar when serious about accelerating.
What we don't know and is likely; Jonas has coaching keeping him within certain pulse ranges and wattage output so he didn't wreck himself attempting to hang with Pogacar. He still had a training cycle to accomplish, post-Dauphine. That would offer an explanation to the sudden acceleration in the last km of Dauphine Stage 7: Go as hard as you can so we can see a No Limits effort at stage end. It's worthwhile data.
Much was said by folks in the clinic about the disparity of apparent fatigue between the two. All mostly BS based on fan prejudice. What really should happen and likely did is both riders were testing their own limits and gaining some information on the competition. For those two there was much shadow boxing mixed in with some serious training. If you accept that then perhaps the Dauphine means nothing.
Except to the team staff and the rider for planning.

At this point in recovery it's sensible that Wout is going to work the first week. No need to burn up anyone else or hunt for sprint wins unless the situation comes easier. It's apparent Lidl-Trek knows how to beat almost anyone on those stages and will put out the effort. Freelancers will love that. GC teams will work to keep their riders safe unless something dramatic happens. Something dramatic seems to happen alot so there's that.
The first TT is followed by more challenging stages 6,7 but the *** hits the fan on stage 10 before the rest day. Looking forward to seeing how that turns out. Stages 12 thru 16 should have the leader well separated from the other podium contenders. All hot diapers dropped in that heat!

Ayuso never worked for a teammate while Almeida has and worked for Pogacar and others last year. The only issue is if Almeida has to completely empty himself in support of Pogacar. Especially when Almeida said helping Pogacar win is the main goal and any personal goals are secondary. Ayuso never said that.
