Sometimes it's harder to control a stage like tomorrow's. Because it starts uphill and there's no flat section. And because there are more riders capable of handling the mid-mountain stage than the high-mountain stage, so tomorrow's break probabbly will be more competitive than a high-mountain stage.
I agree that the shorter climbs encourage more riders to think they have a chance and can ride high power 8-12 minutes uphill than can sustain it 20-25 minutes on a cat 1 or HC climb.

The mountain train tapping out a gap controlling rhythm is much easier to do on the multi high mountains than an up and down all day parcours like tomorrow.

Was just coming in to say that about Wout. If you noticed, he was nowhere today. Unfortunately for him (and Visma) today was really hard on everybody.

If Wout gets in the break, Jorg and Vingo take turns trying to bridge to him on one of or multiple climbs.

UAE can't afford to put anyone into the break. They have to save all bullets and utilize all energies to stay on top of things.

He should just superglue to Jonas' wheel and let his teammates (if possible) chase Jorge.
What would the teammates following achieve in that moment? if it is just to have a body there, then should someone glue themselves to Wout for the first desperate break attempts?

Jorg isn't a threat, he should only focus on Jonas. He will eventually catch Jorg when he tries to drop Jonas.
Fair enough. But we can agree there is a diminishing return when it comes to when to allow Jorg up the road and how many people it takes to keep him from gaining 5-7 minutes?

I meant his teammates (with Pogi on their wheels) should set enough tempo to keep Jorge on leasch and tire him at the same time. It will be more complicated if Pogi is isolated.

Wout is such a capable windshield on climbs like this, he certainly has to be the ace for visma tomorrow.

How many verts are too many verts for WVA?

Like, if the UAE sentiments toward jorg are even 10% of what MOU is telegraphing, jorg will be the bait up the road to remove Kj from Pogi.

Jorgenson looked incapable of winning the Giro. He's not going to win the Tour.

Look how much he lost last year. Jorgenson is going to lose much more than 7 minutes in the high mountains.

Those are rational arguments but at this moment he's losing way less and Pogacar could decide to chase him indeed (regarding Jorge as too strong GC rider to let him go).
