He works for Pogacar at 60%. I didn't see him with the strength of his attack today throughout the Tour. Another teammate would be better suited to work like this. He couldn't win two stages because Soler wasn't in the right shape to pull.
He gets better with racing days. This is why he is always bad in spring.

Which stages do you mean?

I already said that only Yates and Sivakov have their places in risk for the Tour 2026.
Soler and Politt will be there for sure.

I don't understand why Soler is undisputed. This is the second year he's been stronger in the Vuelta than in the Tour. They should be sending riders who are stronger in the Tour, not preparing for the Vuelta.

Politt is a lock. Soler should earn his place by actually being in good form in the warm up races leading up to the Tour and not just because the Tour starts in Barcelona.
But Soler is riding for UAE since 2022 and he was always in Tour. No way he gets out when the Tour is starting in Barcelona. Stage 2 will pass very close to his home.

The TdF's team will be something like this:
Pogacar
Almeida (Giro-Tour)
Politt
Wellens
Narvaez
Soler

Two spots I have some doubts:
Yates/Del Toro
Vine/McNulty/Sivakov

In a perfect scenario, with every rider in top shape, I would choose Del Toro and Sivakov (due to his friendship and loyalty. More complete than Yates).

Again, he has to earn that spot and not get it for free just because the Tour starts in Barcelona. It should not matter if the Tour is passing close to his home. If he wants a Tour spot, he has to show he's already close to or in top form ahead of the Tour, not be like "Oh I'll just use the Tour as warmup for the Vuelta". If not, there are more riders who are more deserving of a spot on the Tour team.

What I am saying is Soler can be at 90% and he still will race the TdF. If I agree? No, but Pogacar likes to have his mates there.

His numbers are better this year.
I checked his numbers before Quebec this year and last year, and despite his 2025 training ride being 2 hours shorter, he did an average power of 295 watts (in another one he did 290 watts). Last year he showed a training ride of 6:20 h with an average power of 277 watts (NP of 326 w).
Average power of 295 w is probably 340-350 w of NP.

Zone 2 is around 55-75% FTP. I believe he is doing around 75%. So 345/0.75= 460 w. 460/65= 7,08 w.
His FTP is around 7 w/kg.

Give him the rainbow jersey, dude is flying!

That's great news for Allan Peiper (and Red Bull). I really rate him and wondered if he was officially retired or would make a comeback. Would much rather him than Matxin in the team car...

he's being doing some part time consultancy work with jayco for the last two years.

impossible to say if he's better than 2024 based on this, as you say there's a difference of 2 hours, that training ride is much shorter, plus every training ride is different, maybe it's simply a day where he pushed a bit more or less. Imo in 2025 he has been better than ever in one day races, his level in flanders, PR and MSR has been higher than ever. But in long climbs at the tour he was a little bit below his 2024 level

Zone 2 ride you can maintain for 5/6 hours without problem. He will probably give us some updates in the next week.
