Lance is actually pretty charismatic and always has been. He's charismatic in that *** jock, type-a personality way, someone that would definitely participate in bullying. But he's pretty fun to listen to at the same time.
Well, I'm a subscriber now because he/they have unique insights. And, as he says. He has changed his views. He's entertaining in the same way as Clarkson is entertaining.... but only because they have a Hincapie/James May in the room. I'm watching now and I think he is right.
And maybe Pogacar's charm won't carry him too far now.

Pogi doesn't seem like the brightest kid, I think it would be fairly easy to trip him up into spilling something ... like asking him "Others have noted what a big difference altitude training makes. Once you got to 60% HC with all your altitude training, what kind of difference did that make to your performance?"
If he isn't the brightest it means he can be on stuff he has no idea about :O

I don't know what is HC. Do you mean HC climbs? After 60% of them the difference is still small as it's the start of my attack. Porridge is crucial to my performance BTW.

I honestly do not know what to believe anymore. I was kinda sure they were all on the good stuff but when I see Pogi ride I think he is just that good. I mean, it is kinda presumptuous maybe even arrogant to assume training and nutrition cannot move forward (even to the extend of bringing an increment of 0.5W/kg). It seems to me, every day more and more, that it is possible that they are all clean"ish". Maybe some microdosing but even that I question now. Otherwise Pogi would not be so reckless.

I doubt the riders themselves know much about what’s going on. Too dangerous. You have to assume even a Pogacar will eventually be in a vulnerable position where there’s incentive to talk. Obviously they’ll know some bare minimums, but not necessarily much more.

Do you really think that a rider would not know if he is taking illegal or questionable stuff? I mean, Pogi does not look like the brightest build in the box but he would surely know.

  • Wow
Reactions: SHAD0W93 and noob
I´ve heard Pog shared a steak with Contador before the tour.
Anyway.. if they don´t do anything against something this obvious, then I might take a long break like I did in the late Armstrong era.. no point in watching this, its unbelieable and boring.
My thoughts exactly, this is getting beyond ridicilous(again). And I thought the Froome era was bad. The season Poggie has had is beyond anything I have seen in all these years (closing to 30 years now)following procycling. The fanjerking going around is also super annoying, cause this is so freaking obvious. You don't even have to think about the men behind the team, just look at the performances&level on every single race this doped to the gills monster enters(in every disclipine also).

The more you listen to Lance the more you realise he was just a heaping vehicle of sociopathic ambition which Ferrari and Bruyneel carefully pointed in the right direction and pressed 'go'. Without these guys behind him he would be dropping pensioners in weekend triathlons, torturing wild animals and picking up coins off the side of the road for a living. The man is a moron. The Liz Truss of cycling.

Ah plus ca change.

I think the main obvious difference between Lance and Pog, is that one has oodles of charm and the other is a ***. This might explain why people are prepared to shrug their shoulders and watch the fun.
Lance definitely had charisma as well, he had a huge personality, it just wasn’t a very pleasant one. He still has that steely eyed look and a face full of anger.

Pogacar is probably the most charismatic rider since then but in a much more playful innocent way. The fact that Lance was exhorting Pogacar to stop attacking to try and make it more believable and curry favour with other riders, media and fans, yet Pog just said sod that and produced another thermo nuclear attack, just show the different sides to their personality.

Lance was cold, cunning and calculated and he used the cancer as a shield. I don’t think Pogacar has that level of devious in him but he has the might of an oil state behind him. He is now too big to bring down as he could well be the only rider to transcend the sport since Lance.

There have been generational talents before. Greg Lemond comes to mind. Before Giannetti got involved with him he was maybe one of those. You know, wins a tour with a close margin, in a hard fought battle. Maybe multiple if the team is good. With the help of the state sponsored doping program he’s become an alien. He’s able to win classics with 80km solo attacks. He’s able to peak for months at a time, he’s climbing minutes faster than the biggest dopers in history.
A certain Remco Evenepoel is also considered a generational talent, actually a lot higher than a certain rider we are talking about in this thread. These days he cant even touch Teddy and looks like a semipro in comparison. There has been injuries of course, but something very shady happened with Poggies development curve after he joined team UAE, this year they have taken it to the next level.
