Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

It’s not the only reason but it definitely helped that Christen destroyed the field on Cherave and that a group of 5 went off after before Huy. The peloton had a big chase to bring it back and then UAE put the pressure on again. It was funny hearing Bob Roll think Pogacar went to far for a little. You have to go back to the 2003 edition when someone won with a bigger game than today.

The return of the unicorn
Same feeling as when he accelerated in Il Lombardia. Something unnatural in his move.
I don't know what to think of it anymore. Since Milan San Remo, where a doped bike would really have benefited him (and he really wanted to win MSR), I'd given up on that theory.
In Amstel Gold Race he looked normal.
But today was another WTF acceleration.

The look of pure joy from a man who knows he's done nothing wrong.

Well at least he didn't throw away his glasses into the crowd.

Could be a couple of things. One, they underestimated the assist level needed on a climb like Poggio to reliably drop everyone. And two, it was raining as many noted, and rain is a great help in heat dissipation and also defeating IR cameras (but they might not care about that at this point). So he could really drop an extra 500W of so on the Muur for a minute or so with immunity. It was similar with the earlier version of Pogoclown in the rainy stage 8 of 2021 TDF when he easily dropped everyone for over 3min and people on this forum began speculating if he was going to win the whole thing by 30min or a whole hour.

Watch the post race interview, he just won, didn't, couldn't smile.. Week after week his child like enthusiasm is draining ..he looks like he is coming back down to earth ,close wins, multiple crashes and multiple loses.. He is looking and acting human.
Must have seen a replay by that time and it looked so ridiculous that he got a bit scared. Probably was cursing that old fool Mario who dialed the e-assist before (or during) the race. :)

500 watts is nothing mate... if he was doing that for a minute, he would be out of the top10

Dracula Gianetti did a number on him...

Armchair psychologists already noted Pog looked glum after Amstel's defeat. More so than usual.

It bodes ill for the peloton if Pogi is about to mature one final time and reach his prime L.A. death stare age. Get ready for atomization with a vampiric bloodlust. No more smiles, just total cold hearted dominance.

But seriously. He made everyone else look like cadets today.

race context is important here. horrible weather and a much harder route than last year. biggest gap to 2nd in this race in over 20 years.
Well, Stevie Williams was only five seconds slower last year than Vauquelin this year after way worse conditions and following attacks on the previous Mur already. I also don’t remember a strong pace to start the Mur last year. I guess climbing Cherave this hard just before killed some legs but that just puts more emphasis on Pogačar‘s superior Short-Term recovery. Kind of impossible to know how much of that is down to doping.

Where's that put Mathieu then?

I never believed it but I really think it's a motor.

it's too strong, too unnatural, too alien, too much. TOO MUCH.

explain to me what has to happen for this guy to be stopped? Does he have to go at a speed of 100km/h?
What motor? He was 19 seconds slower than JA. So are we saying his bike wasn't checked today? I was hopeful this nonsense had died down but sadly we are back to full nonsense again.
