The saddest realization is that a 'super champion' can be manufactured. I hope we get to know how, because they're just going to repeat this until Gianetti and Matxin disappear.

Sky were as clean as a surgeon’s scalpel compared to this UAE mob. It really is pointless to compare them. Yes, they were robotic, but that reflected the tactics they had to employ without having a significant advantage over their opponents but also in the knowledge that no one else was able to break their grip. And correspondingly, without having a rider themselves who could just dance away from everyone else with relative ease. I do wonder if Pogacar hadn’t crashed how much he’d have won the race by. Also, while anyone normal might have been able to get back to the front of the race, by putting in a huge effort and running on adrenaline, the effort would have been so enormous that they’d have paid very quickly for it. And rather than telling me that Pogacar is merely a uniquely talented rider, it tells me that he’s going places far beyond the limits of a what a human body can do on its own.

*** that give me Sky back. They were boring like 1 GT and the Dauphine per year and the rest they sometimes lost, sometimes did something funny, and in classics they were usually just nowhere.

thank you Red Rick. it took years. I am getting vindicated, year by year, and many agree with you. those who don't want to, are just haters with Sir Dave living rent free in their heads

Brailsford pushed boundaries, maybe to breaking point on the odd occasion. What he didn’t do is look at those boundaries, laugh, rip them up, and then waltz across them by a distance of about a million miles. All the while grinning into the camera like the cat who got the cream because he’s knows he’s untouchable.

Think it was largely the combination of Froome and funded, organized, implacable management that set the tone for people (especially after the Armstrong years). Brailsford could seem smug, but not overly noxious.

No, I think once he caught the peloton he settled in and only launched right at the end. Merely smart riding from a guy who is maybe coming into form.
Maybe he had an easier ride , but I still think he had a better time from the place of the crash he got up after Pogacar and had to change bike. He obviously beat MvdP if the race had been 500 m longer he would have won.

Very curious pattern whenever Pogacar wins this thread blows up and when he loses this thread is as quiet as a library despite Pogacar pushing the same ''doping'' numbers you all claim. Paris-Roubaix 2025.
This is not true, there has been a lot of questions about his performance in Paris Roubaix and also he loses unnaturally seldom.

If MvdP starts winning nearly every Grand Tour, 1-week race, mountain stage and average 5 stage wins in Grand Tours, we'll make sure his clinic blows up as well.

And also there are numerous riders today that would win any races on one leg if you teleport them back to 2015. The entire peloton is becoming freakier each year and Pogacar happens to be the most freakiest one of all

Oh, this race was today. First time in 20 years I didn't bother, so I guess the elastic is about to snap for me. So very exciting.

He crashed in Roubaix.
Irrelevant. The point is the ''doping'' watts he produces only becomes an issue with people when Pogacar wins and not when he loses which leads to believe that this is anti-Pogacar related rather anti-doping. This is how I see it, similar pattern.

Pogacar won his first 2 Tours (immediately called a doper on this forum)
Jonas won the next 2 Tours (library silence)
Pogacar wins his 3rd and 4th Tour (back to calling him a doper)
