I still think we are due for a Hinault rant on LA's embarrassing himself and disrespecting the race.

It has been very disappointing. I gave him a ton of credit for fighting back on Stage 3. His lack of interest over the last 4 stages has erased all of that. I wasn't sure how he would react in this situation, but so far he is not covering himself with honor.

So long as that one rider's last name is Armstrong. :p Armstrong is not enjoying this one bit. I don't see him having the desire/motivation to go for a stage win at this point. Unless he's just a great actor...

Yes, it's ll about LA for them. (I just saw the 1st versus promo on the lead in where they mention Levi. I guess they no longer ask if Lance will make history or BE history. Since that question has been answered.)

I had been thinking he may try and go out on Stage 15 in a blaze of what would have to pass for glory. But now I am not so sure. He has a go big or go home mentality and he is now in go home mode.

I love how in Versus' "contender" standings they don't even list VDB or S. Sanchez, but they make sure to list Rogers, Sastre, Wiggins, and Armstrong.

I do feel for Leiphiemer, Horner Brazjovic. their tour performances are being compromised badly by a hopeless team leader.

Surely they knew what they were signing up for?

Hope that Wiggo do something today... besides being dropped big time in the middle of the climb...

I was wondering about that. I am relatively new so don't know a lot about Sanchez but from what I have seen he ought to be on the list. (One would imagine anyone in 3rd at this point belongs on that list.) I can't figure why he is never in that GC contender list.

but what they signed up for and what they have have changed slightly. The riders arent getting the support they were promised.

I think the whole team is struggling for an identity at this point. They drank the kool-aid on Lance and I don't think they know the way forward since that dream has been shattered. And couple that with JB's lack of offensive tactical skill and you get this meandering/rudderless team.

That'll be because he's not English-speaking or from a North American team.

Especially true for Horner. Sadly.

Brajkovic was dropped even before Armstrong was on the Morzine stage... Horner isn't really a GT guy. And Leipheimer is performing to the best of his abilities. I don't really see the problem Armstrong poses for them.
