please....Rasmussen is done & Sella ins't near his CERA level....
I must confess I still want to see Ricco battling AC & ASchleck & hopefully Soler in the mix- IF he ever stays on the bike....

Well I`d ratter watch Tour de Drugs if those riders + Landis were in it. You may hate the guy but what he did in Tourr 2006 on stage 16 will always remain in my memory. Best stage win along side Rasmussen`s in 2007 in Tignes.

Oh c`mon we all know professional cyclist are using something. Maybe that isn`t `doping` but they all use something.... Can you now stand and say: I`m 100% sure AC and AS are not doped?

Contador could:

Beat Sella any day...
Beat Ricco almost everytime... if you ask me I will always put my money on AC but Ricco is great!
and Beat The Chicken just in a good day... that Chicken was crazy...

Rasmussen is almost retired and he hasn't been in a major competition so we can't put him in the list of the Top 5 climbers...

I expect Pinaeu to be in the break.

I'm currently trying to figure out a way to not go to work tomorrow.

Today will be a fierce attacking day, it has to be. AS has to take time out of AC but AC needs to get some kind of cushion against a bad day therefore both need to take every chance that presents itself. I also think Saxo are on their last legs, they've been burning mega watts since Rotterdam.

Astana will burn energy today to keep the pace high until Berto is ready to jump and if he is on a very good day he can easily put a couple of minutes into Schlecky on Ax 3. I think pace will be too strong for any of the rest of the "contenders" to attack on the Palihieres. Berto in yellow by around a minute by teatime.

Beautiful ride by Floyd. Seeing his competition I thought he was royally mistreated losing his crown. Oh well.

You are dreaming, pistol boy beats those 3 in the tour everytime!

Unfortunately the Cobra will probably be back next year. This should be a great stage. Expect Contador to play the waiting game and the usual KOM riders to try a break. Don't think this will be a decisive stage except for some of the riders battling for third place who will lose more time. Also expect this will be the beginning of the end for some of the green jersey contenders who will not make it through the Pyrenees...........Cavendish, McEwen and Petacchi. Love to see McEwen survive, considering his misfortunes so far.

Finally! It's about to get interesting!

For those who are fighting for the podium. :) El Pistolero should kill the competition today. Only problem is that i'm not sure he wants the yellow jersey just yet...

LA to attack on the bottom of Ax-3 domaines and win ala Sastre in 2003, where AC will just counter AS's attacks but won't ride with him like on the madeleine... He knows the difference betweem him and third is save, and the competition below is just too weak to scare him...

Gesink [...] hasn't proven the most confident rider on descents and time trials
Cycling journalism isn't hard... you crash on a descent, you underperform in a time trial, and there you go: can't descend, can't time trial!

Come on Bobby G, pull a Sammy Sanchez in today's descent and a Cancellara in the final time trial, just to prove those lazy journalists wrong! :p

In all seriousness, he isn't a worse descender than, say, Andy Schleck, and certainly not a worse time trialist than most of the people around him on GC, with the exception of Leipheimer.

he needs to attack earlier, or he'll be dropped on the HC climb

It doesn't?
From the Tour website:
Ax-3 Domaines, hosts the race since 2001. Stage finishes are held at the Plateau de Bonascre, one of the three skiing areas that make up the resort. In 2003, an impressive little Spanish climber here abandoned his usual reserve to claim the first of his three Tour stage victories: five years later, Carlos Sastre won the Tour.

Looking at that final km profile, it goes down and that equals the normal Bonascre finish.

Other than that, this thread went seriously downhill overnight, too.
Some simply daft comments.
