HTC must of pulled hard because Geraint Thomas couldnt get to the front, he was a bit further back otherwise Swift would of had a chance. Maybe Champs Elysees.
Uhh no, Swift was clearly exhausted before the sprint started and didn't even get up. No way he would've won, he's not nearly as fast as Cavendish anyway.

One problem for Swift was that when Farrar and Cav had one man left, he was alone. Renshaw lasted 200-300 metres longer than EBH.

Wasn't the best leadout from G and EBH either. Left him a long way back with too far to go.

cav doesnt even deserve to be in this race after hanging onto those cars!

That would be those invisible Spanish cars?
As Maillot Verde wearer, he would have a commie with him virtually all of said time.
There was no hanging onto cars.

All this whining about the world's fastest sprinter wearing the sprinter's jersey.
Maybe Prudomme will get to hear about it and introduce a green jersey, with red spots for 2012.

Yeah he was implying that Cav did some car surfing yesterday.

Strange how again there don't appear to be any pictures of that. Is Cavendish a vampire or something?

Hold on what racing? i saw no racing. Letdown? it was the worse MTF i have ever seen in 30 years watching.
I saw more racing in the last 3km today in the whole of yesterday stage.
Guess we all interpret things differently.

Evidently you never saw the 2009 Tour de Suisse.

Whoa, I have never seen Tyler so upset/mad. In addition to his cryptic comments about Cav's "remarkable comeback from the gruppetto yesterday," he had really angry words about the finish...something about how he couldn't believe they would have such a dangerous finish at this point in the TDF.

I didn't get the impression Farrar was referring to hanging on the car to get over a mountain.

As a matter of fact - the first place I came to see if anyone was talking about it - was the clinic.

Those were some harsh words from Farrar - at least that is how I took it

Mentioned on Eurosport that Cav was named one of the 50 most markatable Sportsmen. Obvioulsy the only cyclist.

He came 35th actually, very surprising, very high.

Good news to have a cyclist there. Hope to see him rise up further in years to come.

Also Eurosport admit that green jersey rules were made especially for Cav. That Prudhome thought it was a shame Cav hadnt won it yet.

Maybe he was stuffed but he looked baulked at the end. I'm not sure he would of beat Cav but he would of been closer and a top 3.

I hope cancellara wins at the champs elysees. dont want a 5th cav win.

Extremely unlikely imo, he'll either be celebrating or whining together with the Schleckies and either way he'll be smashed from the efforts of the third week and the ITT on the previous day in particular.

that's how i took it too. i have never seen him that upset after cav beat him.

very harsh words, and not things that should be thrown around without something to back it up.

The problem is they only turned it into a sprinter's jersey this year, specifically so that Cav could win it.

That finish didn't look particularly dangerous, to me. No one crashed, so....

Rest day now.
Time for some to get the beef steak out and for Cadel to prepare for his usual, third week fall apart.

thought you were rooting for cadel. this year is gonna be different IMO, he has had such a light preparation for this tour so he shouldnt be that tired in the third plus he looked strong in the pyrenees. I wouldnt say it his tour to lose but he has a great position to win it and it might very well be his last chance.

GO CADEL!!!!

After the accusations of a few days ago I guarantee you that there was a photographer glued to Cav's group for the entirety of yesterday's stage. If he rode the car up the mountains we would know about it.

+1 Also unusually yesterday there was quite a lot of footage of Cav dropping off the back but making back the time on the desccents. Also race officals have said that many riders are being monitored.

2 MTFs, an easy side of Crans Montana and Serfaus (Serfaus!), both ending with sprints from groups of around 20, and Cancellara going to the top with them. A small uphill sprint won by Kirchen, four flat stages and two ITTs, one deliberately set to be long so Cancellara would win.
