Of people feel there is too much traffic I have created a thread to talk about this.

"The Moment the MJ decided to attack"

Otherwise there is no chance in hell of reading anything about the current situation of the race.

the controversy is not about the mj attacking. it's about the guy who wanted to have the mj at all costs attacking.

I saw Vino was on his wheel and Bertie was about 10 metres behind, but had yet to really respond.

No of course Bertie responding and Schleck going nowhere Bertie would close a 10 meter gap in a flash. However we do know for a fact that Andy had opened up a small gap on Bertie, what we do not know is whether Andy could have sustained or extended said gap, or whether Bertie would have closed it...

BTW latest Time Gap Contador 32 seconds ahead of Andy.

AC was closing the gap before Andy lost his chain

Don't see Menchov and Sanchez sitting up, either. Contador was responding to Schleck's attack.
In order to sit up, all 3 would have to agree.
Otherwise, Contador would be giving time to the 2 men directly behind him in the GC.

A difficult race situation, he may regret, later.

Let's hope it all comes back together.

Menchov already waited once, and Saxo never waited for Gesink. I have no beef with Menchov cruising on.

As for the rest, sure, it always shows class to wait. It graced Ulrich. I disagree that it is classless not to wait. It's racing. Saxo seemed to have a fairly casual/oppurtunistic attitude to other people being caught out behind a mechanical too. Seemed normal to me then, like this seems "part and parcel of it" too.

Congrats Thomas. Enjoy.

More than sportsmanship, who wants to be known as the guy who won the TdF because the strongest rider had a mechanical on his attack?

Does AS using his team to gain time on AC on stage 3 prove he is a stronger rider? Not at all

From what I saw today Andy has a very good chance to put serious time between himself and Contador on Tourmalet. I think Contador fears the same thing and that is why he attacked when he saw that Andy had a mechanical. If he had more confidence in his form vs. Andy's he would have waited.

For the last time AC wasn't attacking the yellow jersey. He was closing down Andy's attack when Andy had a mechanical.

And then pushed on after the yellow had a mechanical. Andy is stopped on the side of the road, there is no gap to close.

Did anyone notice Voeckler took off his glasses for a bit then put them back on? Someone was probably yelling in his ear "hey think of our sponsors!"

No Contador went to the front and attacked. There is no doubt about it. He did not ease up - he was on the limit to the very top, then all the way down. He was at the front.
