has the garmin team been announced officialy yet? just seen 9 riders on cyclingfever and it was minus zabriskie, surely hes doing it?

The cyclingfever startlist is way off. Garmin have selected six of their nine so far, and Zabriskie is included in the 6 so far named.

The team will be led by Vande Velde with Zabriskie and Hesjadel so far named as his help on the climbs, along with Millar. Farrar is the sprinter with Dean and Hunter.

Vande Velde- Leader
Zabriskie
Hesjadel
Millar
Farrar- Sprinter
Dean- lead out

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/08062010/2/cycling-vande-velde-lead-garmin-tour-challenge.html

The last 3 spots are up for grabs. One will likely be Robbie Hunter. The 2nd will probably be Maaskant. Hopefully they decide to take Danielson because he would be a big help for VdV when they reach the mountains, but Danny Pate may be the last guy. I do think Hesjedal will ride well in the mountains too and VDV will be able to count on him more this year.

Then it's been updated today, because earlier this morning, Matt White had not yet selected the final 9 and Zabriskie was not on the Cyclingfever list until today.

I did forget about Van Summeren, who is good on all terrains.

Unfortunate. The sprint stages just got less interesting, if that's possible.

no trent lowe,or sutton or myers..

Sutton rides for Sky. But overall, that's a pretty good lead out train for Farrar. I mean CVV would be useful for the initial start of the train, what with his track background.

I think Astana and Caisse were the only teams that havent revealed their tour line up yet.

Caisse have a pre-selection of 13 and will decide the final 9 based on the form riders show in the nationals, and Soler's injury that almost certainly will rule him out.

Astana:

Contador, Vinokourov, De la Fuente, Grivko, Hernandez, Igliskiy, Navarro, Noval, Tiralongo

I'm actually not surprised that Oscar was left at home. He had a terrible Tour de Suisse. Noval, Iglinsky, Grivko and Vino will be the men for the flats.

I am a little bit surprised about Hernandez, but he had a much better Dauphine than Fofonov.

Mental that they are sending Felline....dude is 20 years old. Surely finishing the tour at such a young age would inhibit his development as a rider?! Not that I expect him to.

Very weak team, when Cheula is your most experienced rider you know you have problems.
Big Mig did ok even though he started his first tour when he's 20:rolleyes:

Damn, that's a strong team. Good men for all stages. What happened to all the talk about Astana being so weak?

I bet Pereiro, Fofonov, and Jufre will ride the Vuelta. With Contador (depending on how the Tour goes.) And Allan Davis.

AC, DDLF, Hernandez, Navarro, Noval, and Tiralongo have been training together in the Alps and in Spain. Vino, Grivko, and Max have been training together in Sicily. The team should be ready to roll next week.

I guess that is the end of perriero :(
Jesus Hernandez won his place on Alpe d huez, one of the last 8 from any team and helped to launch Contadors first attack
I think he will be a really big help along with Navarro as they all seem to be best friends, the mental pressure from last years astana will not be there for contador
