a member of an italian forum I know, who trains with Nibali's Brother, said Nibali would not leave Astana if they don't get World Tour.

RCS/Gazzetta will invite Astana anyway

Dubai, Strade Bianche, Roma Maxima, Tirreno, Sanremo, Giro

and a visit to Etna(or Teide) between Sanremo and Giro

Ahhh. But you are assuming they get busted down to pro continental so they are permitted invites to RCS events. What if the UCI busts them all the way down to Vino 4ever?

I'm not actually thinking that would happen. But, it would be the hilarious equivalent of the Horner blacklist.

And that in a sentence is the knot Sky have tied themselves in.

If the only way someone can beat Sky, is to dope; then what is the explanation they'll use when Sky riders start winning again ?

Beetroot socks. Extra pointy stealth shoes. calpol. Frey Bentos pies. Jack Daniels. Magnetic head bands.

Even though I'm harboring no illusions that Nibs and Aru are clean, I still hope they jump ship asap. Lifeboats are looking more and more limited. And as afrank mentioned, not to sky please.

Don't forget the new hi-tech bikes that will offer an overwhelming advantage....

That's the one thing that amazes me about Sky and their high tech approach. They ride without doubt the worst bikes in the peloton. They are the heaviest. The design is out dated. Froome was using crazy light ax lightness wheels at one point, Stick a set of those wheels on a RCA and the riders would have to wear armour to hit the UCI weight limit. Did you know that Sky had Berk [ Jure] make them some ultra light seat-post combo's but the UCI would not let them use them. I have a friend who bought a Pina copy from Asia and it is lighter than the real thing. It rides better as well and it only cost him £300.

I read on the internet that some dude who knows someone who posts on an Italian forum, who also trains with Nibali's brother said Nibali isn't going anywhere...

Read your first sentence again...

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/s...hief-defends-drug-campaign-amid-astana-storm/

The UCI licensing commission was to announce on Wednesday its recommendation on whether Astana, whose top rider Vincenzo Nibali won this year's Tour, should get a racing licence for 2015 after a series of doping failures.

However, UCI president Brian Cookson said the federation, in making a final decision, will also study new allegations that Astana met banned doping doctor Michele Ferrari last year.

"We will make a decision in good time through due process," said the UCI president who strongly defended cycling's efforts to counter drug cheats.

So no decision today it seems...

About time this team full of utter scum and home of the biggest crook in the history of cycling, Vinokourov, get what they deserve.

I don't see how Astana could possibly continue to hold a WT liecence any longer. As others have said, they could be busted right down to the lowest level.

TBH though, Katusha should not be far behind either.

Menchov, Karpets, Ivanov, Rovny, Silin, Pozzatto, Kolobnev, Galimzyanov, Pfannberger, Colom, Gusev, Petrov, Kozontchuk all connected with doping whilst at the team.

i don't think he does but who knows Vino might have something on UCI.
otherwise indeed it should normally be bye-bye Astana.

It never ceases to amaze me how some can single out 1 team or 1 rider as "the biggest crook, worst doper" whatever. You better get with Foxxy because the biggest crook in cycling is named Chris Horner. Seriously though, this story names riders from Astana, Lampre, and Katusha and what you get from it is Astana is utter scum? The biggest thing that I take away from this investigation is that it shows BMC, Sky, Saxo etc. must be working with someone other than Ferrari, oh yeah and Horner too. I guess that Ferrari doesn't have the market cornered as he once did.

While I definitely agree, I still feel there is more going on. What we learned about IOC sport with the IAAF scandal, and now very likely Armstrong/Wiesel is you can buy never testing positive.

IMO, for reasons we don't know, Astana is being singled-out by the UCI for demotion.

It is strange that Astana have been singled out. This is not a simple dope bust.
