That's the point. They (sky fans ndr) aren't going to come in here and attack Nibali because they need to cling to the narrative that the entirety of cycling is clean.

It was a response to your comment about joining the dots. Everyone in this thread has joined the dots, so its redundant. The ones who don't join the dots, who refuse to, are the journos and commentators who deliberately keep their ears closed. They don't post here nor read it.

I am a Sky fan, I know that nor Sky nor Nibali and Astana are clean.

agree very much on the red part. I saw the 21 stages of the Tour with the Italan TV and their gospel

The only ones who fail to join them are those desperate to make a certain other 2 (or 3) tdf winners look clean. They are fully aware that a doper winning the race a year after brailsfords alleged saving of cycling miracle would absolutely destroy the entire pro sky narrative, of cycling now being clean, of non doping methods being way stronger than epo programme, of everyone copying sky, of the "younger generation" being immune to doping etc. So they ignore all the evidence against vino and Astana and pretend Nibali has "always been outspoken against doping bla bla bla".

Everyone else, contador fans, Armstrong fans, Sagan fans, no rider fans, even Nibali fans, are capable of connecting the dots. The sky defenders, as always are left as the only ones incapable of performing a simple task.

Your imagination is running wild. But at least you are showing you care so fair play to you.

Technically speaking, if they were following MPCC's rules they should not have ridden Lombardia, correct?

No. He hadn't admitted/tested his B sample at that time.

Thanks, have been pretty busy recently so haven't followed closely.

Looks like a "Hey don't admit until after Lombardia but before Beijing and we'll give you a nice payout" kind of scenario.

What do you think? How many medals would you asume Valentin iglinsky have been given?

Otherwise I agree with you, Vino could deserve more medals:D

This is like the team management equivalent of Sella's 2008 Giro in not-giving-a-flying-one-how-bad-it-looks terms.

One could wonder where the damning outcry from all the "clean" teams are...

If we are witnessing the new clean era there is certanly a lot of acceptance of incrimanitated teams and riders...

Could be that most team-leaderships origins in the "all or nothing" era, thus everyone has something on everyone. That of course, is no indication of a current clean state.. And even if the will to out others from real-clean teams/riders was there, they would think twice as it could ruin their livelihood...

Vino? Well he's different, stands out -kinda like Tinkoff...

I wouldn't know about shameful legacy though...
I disagree with the premise...
Surely the majority can conclude shame on others behalf.
Doesn't mean a thing though, if the "shame-owner" doesn't align...

Astana face UCI review after doping cases

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/08/us-cycling-astana-idUSKCN0HX1MP20141008

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) views the positive tests for EPO by two riders of the same team... as an extremely serious situation and one which raises questions about the management of the team and the ethics which are upheld within it," the UCI said in a statement.

"We will be discussing this with the team to see whether we are satisfied that they are doing all they can to ensure their riders do not use performance-enhancing drugs.

"Once we have reviewed the situation, we will see if there are changes we believe need to be made internally at the team or indeed whether we should attach conditions to their license going forward which are consistent with the WADA Code."
...............
As per those rules, Astana suspended themselves for the season-ending Tour of Beijing
................
They will, however, face a fine from the UCI because the governing body's regulations state that World Tour teams must take part in all World Tour events.

"We confirm that the financial penalties contained in the UCI Rules under such circumstances will indeed be applicable," the UCI said.

edit:also on CN, didn't notice before..

With regard to the Iglinskiy brothers' positive tests, the team said that it will conduct an internal investigation to reassure that they were isolated. “Astana Pro Team will investigate the events more thoroughly in the following weeks, and will request an audit of its own stringent anti-doping policy to identify whether even stronger measures would be possible and legally enforceable.”

I wonder what will happen if they discover Vino was a doper
